Title: Software used for making Gunsights?

What software would be the best for putting together a new gunsight? I've got one in mind that I would like to put together, but I'm not sure how to go about it.

I use gimp, but even paint could be used. just remember black is transparent, and the center is where your guns will be aiming. get the sze and file type right, and youre good to go.
