While the USAF, USN, RAF, and Luftwaffe fans enjoy an abundance of planes that served in that branch of service the IJN, IJA, and especially VVS are lacking in planes.
Instead of adding another american plane or German plane in the next release can we please have a VVS plane? The Soviet Union was one of the major powers in WW2 and had many different types of aircraft that eventually brought the Luftwaffe to it's knees. IMO the Russians played the greatest part in WW2 (of course the other countries on the allies helped a lot but i think Russia played a very vital role in the defeat of the Third Reich).
In the next release can we please have some (even 1 or 2) VVS planes just to make VVS fans happy?
Some great choices would be:
Polikarpov I-16
Tupolev Tu-2
Possibly a Bell P-39 in VVS colors
Lavochking LaGG-3
Yakovlev Yak-3
Mikoyan Gurevich MiG-3
these would make great additions to the VVS arsenal
and after this you should focous on some Japanese planes. IMO there are already enough US and German planes. And some nice VVS birds would be a nice change :)

IJA: Ki61-I-KAIc Hien
IJN: A6M5b Zero-Sen, N1K2-J Shiden-Kai
VVS: Il-2M, La-5FN, La-7, Yak-9T, Yak-9U
In what way is the VVS worse off than the IJA/IJN? The Japanese planeset only has 3 fighters, the Russian planeset has 4 fighters and a strike aircraft.
As far as I know, Pyro wanted to do the Tu-2S, but was unable to get interior images with which Superfly or Natedog could do the 3D model.
If you can provide such images, please do.
I'd love to see more Japanese and Russian aircraft.

Yak-3: externally is it just (with addition/substraction of parts) a "skin" of Yak-9?
With Yak-9u, La-7 & Yak-3 you have the complete planeset of russian late birds... isn't it a pity not to have them all, given we have 2/3 :)

You could put up a MiG-3 although it would be cannon fodder but it would be a nice perk giver

For me given the predominant time period that most AH AC represent the Yak3, P39 and the TU-2 are the ones that are missing.
Yak 3 in Normandie Niemen colours.
P39 in Pukusn.... wotsits colours (you know the no 2 VVS ace)

I sent Pyro a link for a scanned Tu-2 pilot's manual... AFAIK - what they need now is a gunner positions pictures.

Sombra, yes the Yak-3 and Yak-9U look very similar. But the Yak-3 is much smaller, and a totally different airframe.
Performance wise, the Yak-9U and the Yak-3 are also similar, so for scenarios you could sub the -9U for the -3 and not hurt much.
I guess I would rather see Pyro put time into the Tu-2, Pe-2, P-39, P-63, Yak-9D, and some others before I would the Yak-3.
Even though it is one of my favorites.
