Ok, so I have decided I am going to finally fix up the 63 Chevy in the garage. Its got new engine and trans, but I would like to get power steering. My uncle (A car obsessed person) has willing lee said he will put the power steering in for me as long as I can get him everything needed, but I cant seem to find any sites that can give me a estimated price on how much the actual power steering gear would cost. Does anyone know?

try this site first, but you can probally just call the local wrecking yard and they could tell you what model will interchange with that year, you might have to redrill new mounting holes if you cant find one that will line up with the existing frame holes
This kit is a complete bolt on and drive kit, everything there except fluid $585.00 Complete

hmm, ok that's not to bad at all, just under 600 bucks, and since my uncle is going to put it in I save even more :D Thanks I appreciate it.

Try "Year One". They have alot of bowtie stuff. NPD "NationalPartsDepot" out of KC have everything I've need for my old Ford. They also carry some old Chevy parts. Don't forget Summit Racing for performance stuff if that's way way you're going.
A parts interchange manual is a must have on a project like this. All cars run on used parts, so you may want to think about a savage yard for like a steering rack out of a newer car?
As a Ford guy myself, i envy the bowtie club because they have so many options and parts are readily avaible...especially for the 60s stuff.
Good luck with you ride. Maybe another pro streeter is born :pray

It' a labor of love bro. Going all orginial is really your best bet I think. But I tend to tinker so I just come up with a picture of what I want and go from there. It takes money and alot of time to do it right.

I've got the front end buttoned up. Working on the dash now. B&M tranny, pistol grim shifters(transfer case&tranny), Detroit locker in the back(saving for the front), about a 2500-2800 stall converter. The motor is a balanced 418ci, gear drive. About 450 hp and almost I much torque. You have to hang on to her.... on pavement for sure :lol. I'm thinking about putting a 5th wheel on it and pull a boat. :D
I used to pull a sled with it at the fair. :lol

Right on! Ford 4x4s Pickups are awesome at blasting the mudholes.. I have to scan some photos, don't have the ones I want in the comp.. Will post a few afterward...
Redman Its good to get an idea of what kind of ride you want before ya start, that way there are less "do overs" later, lol! I have a bit of Experience with that, most do!
Yeah there are a bunch of hotrodder/truck guys around here, :salute

lol same here my first Ford was a 47 ford PU 262 Flathead V8 swaped out the cast iron heads and manifold for some Offenhauser Aluminum heads with the Offenhauser Tripower W/ Stomberg 97's with the stock dual points you could really fine tune that Motor to scream, traded it off later for a 69Z

I would love to get my hands on a flat block Ford. I've never hand the pleasure of messin' with em'.
-
I might be able to solve that problem, lol theres a couple over here sitting in some old farm equipment (irrigation pumps) one of these days ill have to pop in there and ask the guy if he want to get ride of them, the are a fun engine to hotrod.

Finally got around to scanning some pics..
Ford or Chevy, Dodge or Jeep, I do em all.. This is my street truck, don't drive it too much anymore, too expensive! The next step is to do a 4inch roof chop, but other projects get in the way, so haven't gotten around to finishing it... Sweet driver tho! Had the F/R bumpers removed and replaced with some very smooth looking roll pans, was super clean/smooth looking. But got a ticket for illegal equipment for that, Bummer!
