I bought an M1 rifle for reenacting through that site. Pretty cool and well worth the $1 to join.

I like it too. But not for buying guns.
Parts and accessories are readily available and for the most part cheap. But IMO most guns on GB are way overpriced. And when a deal comes along the sites rules make it nearly impossible to win.
For example. I'm looking to buy a Paratrooper SKS. I was watching some auctions that ended yesterday. One was a All matching Chinese Paratrooper, the other a K-Sports Chinese Paratrooper. Priced at $325 and $350 with $25 in shipping. I placed two bids but failed to win. The All matching paratrooper ended up going for nearly $400.
Gunbroker has a 15 minute rule. Meaning if a bid is made in the last 15 minutes, the auction time is reset to 15 minutes. If you are looking for hard to find, expensive guns. I suggest you look elsewhere or have a deep wallet.

Yeah, like any other online auction site, the hard-to-find or collector's grade guns tend to shoot up in price at the end; much like anything on eBay with the words "World War Two" and "Paratrooper" in the same auction. I picked up a 2007 Kahr Arms AutoOrdinance M1 repro carbine - dead ringer for the D-Day model - for $400 on gunbroker. For taking it out into the field for tacticals and history demos, I got a good deal. After I got it blank-modified, it's probably worth more now to another reenactor than when it rolled off the assembly line as a shooter.

Yes. And in some cases gun parts.

Nor gun parts, not even magazines due to certain states' restrictions (i.e. California). About the only gun-related stuff you can get are the mag pouches, cases, and gun slings.

As far as I know there is only one other Auction Site for Firearms and that is http://www.gunsamerica.com/
If you want to buy a new gun you can go to numerous sites and have them shipped to your FFL.

Find a Gun Dealer, Gun Store. Ask them how much for Transfers. Some people charge more than others. Here in WV I pay $25, other places locally charge $50!
Ask them for a copy of there FFL. Most will gladly them give to you. Use this FFL and follow the instructions and state laws on how to order firearms.
There are also a lot of Message boards out there that have buy and sell forums. When you have a copy of your dealers FFL you can buy any thing you want as long as you notify your dealer that you have something coming.

Yeah, its mostly accessories. I usually am looking for Stocks and Bayonets.

From what I understand, paypal also started canceling accounts when buying/selling firearms or parts from anywhere. I still have bought accessories from ebay (such as optics or lasers & such), but have been buying from gunbroker recently.
Don't forget, buying parts, minus the lower receiver on any firearm, can be shipped directly to you, even from the manufacturer.
I like gunbroker also because it does have those rare hard to find parts you can't find on any retail place.

Yes. And if you include the word 'gun' in any part of your advertisement, up pops a red-text warning about eBay's policy - which made me grin when I auctioned an Eduard 1:48 model kit of a twin-gun Sopwith Triplane on eBay UK a while back. Watch out, the li'l plastic shooters will get you . . .

Kinda amusing, in NZ we have an auction site that dominates, www.trademe.co.nz , they allow gun and gun accessory sales. A lil ironic I think :)
