Title: Bf 109K-4 pilots needed. Will you fly with me on Saturday?
Post by: Brooke on April 08, 2010, 08:07:06 PM
I need a few more people to fly Bf 109K-4's in my group Saturday, in the last frame of The Final Battle.

Show Up Time is 3 pm Eastern in Special Events II arena.

Anyone out there willing to fly with me?  The Bf 109K-4 is a glorious plane -- a hunter in the sky!  :aok

Ah, the inevitable allied mooching off one of my recruiting topics.  I'm going to have to start adding disclaimers.

Let's be clear:  "Bf 109K-4 pilots needed".

This is a topic -- and a plane -- for manly men and womanly women.  For brave knights of the sky.

I will be there.

I will be there to greet Dantoo and his public image Bearkats.

The age of enlightenment has returned, and the day of judgment will befall upon our enemies with the vengeance of the world's hearts and minds.

Dantoo, I will be there to greet you myself, with the same smile and the same greeting I showed to your apprentice Bearkats in the last frame.

I can not wait for the day of frame 4 to arrive!  As we Germans so elegantly shout....."UP THE IRONS".

The endurance we Germans have, has yet to be revealed to it's fullest capabilities!

Bitte, baby <----Blazing Saddles :)

Now, how about those K4 pilots that are seeking some fun in the sun over Norway?  Three hours remain in frame 4 this Saturday to release your fighting spirit with your brothers around you.  We Germans choose not to be remembered if we win or lose...for we Will be remembered for how we fought in the skies over Norway!

Give them hell, then give them death!

LMAO.  And live?

1/2 of the axis never saw a red contact.  Living honestly wasn't difficult. Which is amazing, because the axis only have a few targets.

The only thing we "died" from was complete and utter boredom.  Sad, that the most fun this game is (a scenario) can be so bad.

It is way past the time to do away with points based scenarios.

It is amazing how some serious subjects don't get as much response as this thread.  Talk about having a thread high jacked.  Oh that I could fly the glorious Bf 109K-4 with you.  But duty and honor call and I must fly into history with my fellow Fw 190D-9 brethren.  Horrido.

oh you Axis' "Agony of Defeat" is sounding so bitter....... how bout this......when the final battle ( final frame is over ) we share our women with you??? sound good?  oh wait.... they were already ya'lls women to begin with, but they loved the way we party'ed on our task groups, so we took off for frame 3 and just partyed , danced, fornicated....

just as much, we figured since we are felling so sorry for making two of your "skillful me262 pilots" run from a pair of our task group Corsair IV pilots for fear of being blasted out of the sky, intelligence reports that (1) fudgums took multiple hits and received either fuel or oil leaks, causing him to go WOT and run for his life........ although to no avail for one of our Mustang IV pilots got a visual and ran this skeert lil me262 pile-it down and finished him off resulting in the me262 pile-it to hit the silk........

this has been an outstanding  "What If" Scenario that Fencer has designed & written,  everyone on both sides has saw alot of action throughout all the different frames from beta(test) frame until this recent Frame # 3......

I encourage everyone that is able to try and come this Saturday, show up no later than 3:00 PM EDT ( !2:00 PM PST ), preferably no later than 2:45 PM EDT ( 11:45AM PST ) and help fill in any open slots regardless if it is Allied or Axis........

come experience what all the excitement is about......... Aces High Scenarios......... everything else is just practice  :aok

Tc you do realize that your CV was already 20 miles out of the "cv start box." Where my 262s launched from, we had to leave to go to the second part of our mission. Also note that we were outnumbered 4 to 1 each. Not counting the 25K ponies. Considering that I knocked down 2 mossies in that time period as well. I'm glad you guys enjoyed the great action you saw in that frame.

May I hypothesize that this means no NOE Lancs, skirting the periphery of the map after they had already asked for air spawns.

Perhaps no more excuses about how the Axis a/c "outclasses" you and therefore making as little contact with them as possible?

Do you actually mean not flying around with your thumb up your bellybutton for 2-1/2 hours avoiding fights to get the big score, score, score and actually participating in the spirit of the scenario?

Quite novel ideas.

I personally jumped those CVs and they were within the start box at the begining of the frame.

Stainless.  No worries with the airport.

This is second install.  First was Titanium, but Dr. saw that my bone would graft to it in strange ways and eventually make me lose ALL range of motion.  So, they unscrewed it, made a new fixture and reinstalled it while I was still knocked out.  The "K"-Wire is now gone (got to pull them out myself), but the plate and screws stay for life.

Better perspective (not me, btw)

My girlfriend's kid wrecked his dirtbike last year and flew forward into a tree.  Somehow both of his wrist bones broke in just about that same place.  His hand actually broke off and slid down his forearm bones several inches though.  The ends of the bones sticking out were frayed like a broken fiberglass fishing pole.  He's got screws and plates like that now too, and some decent scars from it.  For several months he had to wear two sets of external pins and bars that connected to the plates and screws on his bones, just to keep everything lined up properly I guess.  It was crazy looking.  I'll see if I can't track down one of those xrays, they were pretty interesting.

Moray, you don't know me very well, to think I, personally, am interested in points, or anything....

I like to see Scenarios, whether they are based on /off of a real life battle, or if they are of the "What If this battle took place" type. are executed in the way the designing Scenario writer/author, invisioned them to be played out.....

it don't matter if I lost every single fight, or whatever, as long as I get the "immersed feeling" out of the scenario....

some look at anything in aces high ( MA/malee arenas,  AvsA, Dueling arena, tournaments, scenarios, etc ) as to be something to acquire the top score in or th top points etc......

or to find gimmicky , gamey ways of pulling off some mission, or to use those type tactics in events, scenarios, malee arenas etc.... I just laugh at those type for they are missing so much more from the games events, than by playing for just score.....

and most times those folks, take replys and comments very personally, especially when most of the replys or comments are meant to get them riled up in their seat to begin with  :D :D

the fun you get, is the fun you make...... this Scenario was, FUN!!!  even if at times some of the participants did not get to see alot of actio, that happens in every single FSO, Scenario, or any other event ever played from Air Warrior until the end of time.....

you play enough of em to see it in every event, then you will understand where I come from......

Fencer did a wonderful job designing/writing this scenario......

and to reitirate.......... I don't give TWO CHITS about points......  if I did I would be in the top five in every category every month in every arena ( well except for GVing.never cared for that )...... :neener:

I am for helping th Scenario CM Staff come up with recommendations to stop gamey tactics that some of the teams come up with from time to time, that just wouldnt of happened in a Scenario created of a WWII event....

I am apauled that you publically openly slammed this Scenario...... I would say if you can do better, then get to creating one better, I would like to participate in it  :aok

Thank You, Fencer, Brooke, Kantori/Dux, Scenario CM Staff and the CO & XO from both sides..... all of you did a good job in making sure everyone had a chance to as if they were sucked back in time and at times in an actual fight for their lives and for their country......

No, I publicly slammed the gaminess that is ongoing in this scenario. In reality, I'm sure that the allies would have turned their CV back towards Britain when they know the Axis are carrying an atomic bomb to Finland. In reality, I'm also sure they would have concentrated their efforts on bombing factories and cities for points, than even attempt to kill the Task group that was carrying said atomic bomb.

GAMEY. GAMEY. GAMEY.

There are many more examples, but it's just not worth it.

This crap won't stop until you take the points out of the scenarios.  There are those that view winning with points as more important.  I'd love to help design one.  Just like in real life, you either complete an objective, or you do not. END of story.  Not hypothetically, "I bombed more buildings, but let the Atomic Bomb get delivered to the Axis....I win on points".

It's total crapola.  There is no disrespect intended to anyone on a personal level. We are here to have fun, not have whole squadrons leave for the "more fun" MA's.  There are those of the CM's that agree with me, and have attempted to make things better.  I'm sorry, with the notable exception of frame 4, this scenario was a complete bore fest.

Frame four was outstanding.  But, by then, I guess points didn't count very much anymore.   :lol
