Post by: Plawranc on April 10, 2010, 03:34:43 AM
I love Aussie birds, and this is why.

I have my own which is a Cockatiel named minnie, she is a very fiesty birdie who loves sitting on top of my flatscreen moniter and chewing my headset (Three mic's in).

And the animal I want to be reincarnated as is : The Australian Hobby falcon. A species of falcon that is deadly and very fast. It especsially likes sparrows.

And its scientific name is Falco Longpenneis ( not a joke )

As some one who has raised & bred parrots & cockatoos for many years & I am just going on your partial picture of Minnie can't say for certain with out seeing the whole bird. Minnie might be a male.

Its a girl, she is very colourful I know but we know she is her girl because of her feathers, she has white bands and her wing and back feathers are very dark.

If your bird is not a pied then what bird looks most like yours.

She looks more like the one on the right.

She is very big for a cockatiel, notice the pattern on the tail feathers. She has the same thing. Her feathers are very dark around the back, the breeder who sold her to us said her family had a mutation making her quite literally a transexual

 :rofl
