Title: FSO and Manual Calibration for Bombers.
Post by: SmokinLoon on April 11, 2010, 12:02:11 AM
The added stress of manual calibration and wind for bombers is a good thing.  I like it and so does most of Duxford Wing RAF.

The only issue being we are unable to practice the manual calibration or just how much to compensate for wind direction or speed.

Any chance of FSO squads being able to practice the manual calibration and wind compensation in the TA or other such server???

The added stress of manual calibration and wind for bombers is a bad thing.  I dislike it and so does most of the people that continuously complain about it whenever they have to fly bombers in FSO, which is every time I am in range of vox comms of people in bombers in FSO.  :)

You can practice offline as far as I know. It's in the set-up tables.  If I recall there is no chance of unmanaged practice sessions on the SEA servers.  You might be able to arrange a time for a practice, if you can find a tame person with the keys, who is doing nothing else at the time.

Actually, I would really like to see a lot less of this type of calibration.  It is difficult enough to convince most people that they are having a good time in a buff.  Clearly I am an exception. The problem is that they believe they have zero hope of completing a mission and it starts to make old "I Love Lucy" re-runs look like much better fun return for effort expended.  Once in while is cool, but every freaking FSO gets a bit tiresome.  How about for FSOs where there is a preponderance of bombers and minimum of targets?

AvA has manual calibration where you can play with your buddies, and fight against someone.  Or, offline practice, like Dantoo said.

You can arrange it with the trainers to set up the TA for practice.  Also, not every FSO uses manual calibration.  Wasn't the last one MA style?  Yes it was, because I flew bombers in one frame.

Rolex held a bombing clinic last night that went into detail how to setup and execute a good run using the manual bombing method and crosswind.

Thread for the film is in help & training.

This is something I've seen a lot of requests for over the last year.
Also he has a lot of information about bomb sizes, damage, salvo and delay settings etc.

From an old thread.
