Title: Ju 87D-3 to Ju 87D-5
Post by: Mello on April 12, 2010, 02:42:04 AM
An easy request, the only difference is the change to a Jumo 213 engine giving it higher speed and climb rate, and also replacing the two 7.9mm MG17 1000rpg in the wings with two MG 151/20 180rpg. The dimensions and payload are the same. This is just a better version of this plane.

The D-5 also had different wings and was unique amongst the Ju 87 in this regard.  It was the only Stuka variant to have lengthened wing and I haven't read anything that says they stopped producing it with the lengthened wing when the started use the Jumo 213 engine.

"With introduction of the Jumo 213 and increased power and climb rate, the lengthened wings were no longer needed."

Three different engines were used in D5s and the wing length seems to depend on what engine it would have.
