I figured it might come in handy to be able to click on a friendly dot on the clipboard to see who they are and to tune into them. This would work if you and a couple of other random guys appear to be attacking the same target and need to coordinate with one another. Sure, once you come within the range channel distance then its problamo solved, but this could come too little to late if you need notify a friendly of your intentions from further out. This system would work better than calling out on the country channel asking for the person in a certain sector and hoping that the pilot answers.

I will add to this. Yes, it would be handy. But for the player being sought out, there needs to be a function to turn it on or off.

Good addition. This should only be an optional choice to enable your countrymen to "see your dot".

Limited info. could be listed for enemy cons as well.

not for enemies. Knowing who the enemy pilot is and what they are flying will throw bias into your decision to up a particular plane or to even up at all. Pilots During ww2 didn't know who they were going against, why should we?

No. This takes away from situational awareness. It is enough that at 6K out you have the red label of they type of plane you encounter. This is only due to the limits of the game and your graphics/monitor.

I am sorry but I must say no to this.

Even if you were to extrapolate this via an IFF type thing, which we already have with green and red dots, it still wouldn't broadcast who the friendly dot was.
I guess what we would really need is air traffic controllers.

actually... sorry but im flipping my opinion to no for this. They're right, the 6k con and the clipboard map is bad enough. I like having to call out to see whos to my left and right like in the SEAs on radio, its more realism...In fact i hate the 6k enemy con

I have found that broadcasting on country text, and local channel (F12) “Everyone attacking A177, tune vox to 177” works pretty well. Those interested in having a coordinated attack, will tune in.
