The player that turrets a ground vehicle (barring an infusion of supplies) should get the kill when it eventually towers or goes boom.
Kind of like the pilot wound/fuel fire/control surface loss setup on airplanes. A whine -err a wish has been recorded.

And that is exactly the difference. A plane that lost a critical component or is on fire IS dead.
A tank can get back to life any moment.
Since the track damage kill credit glitch was corrected, I'm actually pretty happy with the way it it now. :)

Yeah, the gv fights with the noob in the air that got 300 kills was what I had a problem with. Although the gvs that you shell and actually kill but get the assist on can get old...

I'm not 100% on gv modeling but........ These 2 components cannot be compared, as Lusche points out....
One can assume a turreted tank may have human damage inside the tank, but at the same time perhaps a ricochet from another round caused a small piece of shrapnel into the carriage and take the head of of the driver. Yet the tank itself is undamaged.... While that turreted/tracked tank has no human damage.
After all........ a "kill" has nothing to do with the vehicle. I have to be dead for you to get a kill credit.

Scenario#1 -
Player A (me) turrets a wirble. Said wirble drives around aimlessy, pleading for someone to bring him supplies. Meanwhile, Player B in a B-25, lumbers in and delivers the coupe de grace. Player B did more overall damage but was only able to do so because the wirble was already neutered. Player A deserves the kill IMO.
Scenario#2 -
Player A turrets a wirble. Said wirble runs back to spawn point to get a ditch. Player B (me) drops a bomb on him for the kill. Player B did this unopposed because Player A did the real damage and deserves the kill.
In Scenario#1, I should have got the kill but not in Scenario#2. The kill credit should have been reversed in each scenario.

See that's the problem right there...... Until the game code has some features of AI, who decides which way to swing the kill?

How about in Scenario#1, Player A does a better job and kills the wirble. Same for Scenario#2.

really easy to kill werbies when somebody else took out turret. whoever takes out turret should be able to get kill. same in tanks, I have plenty of times taken out engine, turret then somebody else drops a bomb and gets the kill.

In the grand scheme of things, does 1 kill really make that much difference?
Chalk it up to teamwork and keep hunting.

Strafe the turret, get the kill? But the vehicle isn't destroyed, player is still alive too, so what "kill" is that?
Sounds as if the the old, "ping it with MG's, to steal the kill from the player that actually MADE the kill with a bomb or tank gun." routine has ended! :D
WTG HTC, a big step forward!
