My Great Uncle had his memorial service today. Found out today that he has a purple heart and fought in the battle of the bulge. He served in the US army in the 12th armored divion, 493rd Armed Field Artilery Battery, 1944-45. http://www.12tharmoredmuseum.com
We use to celebrate our birthdays together as they were both on the same day, lol. Will miss him. :salute

My grandpas cousin was in the same division as your uncle and also recieved a purple heart at the Battle of the Bulge. He's been gone for almost 20 yrs now, and as a kid he was larger then life to me. I really looked up to him. A true hero in my eyes then and now.
I wonder if they knew each other.

We stand on the ground fought for by those brave souls that came before.
May we have the same courage to continue the fight for freedom.
:salute to the fallen.

Maybe possible but it was 17000 soldiers in that division. Who knows. Here is the list of the soldiers in the 12th division. See if his name is there and what Battalion. www.12tharmoredmuseum.com/members.asp
