If you right click and 'save target as' this movie should download in a few minutes. It's 56Mb. The story of Grizz and his epic 4 hour 262 sortie. Taken about a month or more to coordinate things with grizz and at times to work around some film viewer problems but I think we are both happy with the final product.
Hope y'all enjoy, all feedback welcome.

Very nice!  What sound pack were you using (assuming it was a sound pack :P)?

Captured the footage with no sounds, as I was playing the film viewer at 1/2 and 1/4 speed and there is no way of speeding up sound clips in vegas that i know of. Got the engine and 30mm sounds by recording various real footage of Me262s at airshows and 30mm cannons test firing.

I like this film and I like Nine Inch Nails, so good combination. How did you shoot the shot at ~6:33 though? There appears to be two world pointing shots back to back. How did you get the camera to switch targets to grizz after he shoots down the 262?

Glad someone asked Orbital (although I geuss that no one yet asked means the effect worked!)! It is simple to setup but looks pretty good. First you have to freeze the film at the exact moment you want to switch targets (I usualy used the moment of 30mm hit sprite impact). Then setup your world pointing camera possition so that the two planes are overlapped precisely with each other in the center of the screen. Now grab that possition for both start and end camera. Then you just record one version looking at grizz. Then exactly the same shot looking at the target. Finally all you have to do is take the two films and splice them at the moment when the camera has both planes right in the center of the screen. Looks pretty cool, some more experimenting with it could make some really good shots.

The gunnery is unbelievable. :rock I feel like a beginner again.

And the film editing was pretty amazing too. You must have infinite patience to go through a four hour film and do all that work. Very nice, sir. :salute
