Actually, there is a reason a lot of people were gay back then. Because there was no god at the time there was no rules for sexual preference. Same reason why Achilles (brad pit) in the movie Troy had feelings for women and the man that died that was trying to be him in battle.

:huh Ok that is the first time I've heard that one...not quite correct Bob.
Throughout human history cultural differences have changed as civilizations rose and fell...humans have always had "gods" or "spirits" that were sought out for various reasons...some sects or cults advocated "alternative sexuality"...others forbade sex in any manner...some ancient "civilized societies" tolerated homosexuality...others outlawed it...during the time of Alexander's rule, homosexuality was publicly distasteful but tolerated...in Egypt incest was the way some Pharoah's maintained their dynastic rule....Roman culture changed throughout it's history, with over 100 deities that were worshiped, but strangely enough homosexuality and incest were tolerated behaviors until it fell.
-
Actualy it goes further than just 'tolerated' Gyrene. In some Egyptian, Greek and Roman cultures a love between two men was considered pure and perfect as opposed to the love between a man and woman which was considered purely functional. This was generaly in the upper echelons of society as the prols were often more normal in their preferences.

Oh, that one. What a shame, Abraham the Farmer never got as much attention as Abraham the preacher. It goes to show you that leadership and talent beat hard work and courage every time. :(
