Dumb bellybutton question #2....I registered for the forum, no problem...But when I try to login for online play, it says invalid ID....So I figure registering for the forum is separate from subscribing....But when I try to create an account, it says name already taken.....What am I missing?......

Someone else has used the name you want. Choose something else. Once in-game, you can change your name anytime you like. Just remember that each time you change your gameID you will lose any perk points and score you may have. And in case you don't know, perk points are used to "buy" a ride in a "perk" plane - one that was fairly rare in the war; like the Me262, 4-cannon Corsair, etc.

You have to choose another name for your account as the one you're trying is already being used by someone else.
Hope this helps :salute

Just in case it's not clear, this is true. Your name here on the forum (BBS) has no connection to the name you choose in game.
Most people do pick something similar but that's just so they can be recognized.

Thanks all,...I just thought that the name I registered for the forums would be the same I would when subscribing....

also bear in mind that your only allowed 8 characters for your callsign and just numbers / letters.

Unfortunately Airwolf, many years ago the bulletin board was created as a separate entity which makes it almost impossible to marry it to the game today. I wish we could, but we would have to upset a high number of bulletin board accounts in order to accomplish it.
Just remember the login ID you use to create your game account is not your pilot name. The game will prompt you for a pilot handle when you connect to an arena. The login ID is private information between you and HiTech Creations. It is your account number. It is what we use to validate you are the account holder.
It is never a good idea to make you account login ID the same as your pilot handle/name.
