Today we attempt to re-enact the Doolittle raid over the Japanese Mainland. As many of you know, this was in direct response to the bombing of Pearl Harbor in an effort to show the American people that we could in fact take the war to the Japanese Homeland.
Today's design takes into account the lack of early warning that the Japanese had, the miserable morning weather conditions, and the ensuing escape towards friendly territory. The "Success" of today's raid will rely on the ability to manage your limited onboard fuel, your skill in evading enemy interceptors, and the element of surprise. The defending Japanese will have little time to react to the attack and must rely on their ability to make their attack count on the first pass, as the American B25 has enough speed to elude the nimble A6M2.
The full arena setup can be found here: http://ahevents.org/this-day-in-wwii-category/doolittle-raid-2.html
We look forward to seeing you the skies of the Pacific this afternoon

Thank You again Betty for adding these, it is more than appreciated.
The men that Volunteered for this mission did not know the impact that they would have on our Nation's history, or the boost in moral of it's citizens after Pearl Harbor.
For all those who participated in today's event, thank you for honoring the memory of April 18th, 1942
