One song that always causes me pause and listen is Sam and Dave's Hold on, I'm Coming.
Why?
There was a dustoff pilot in Nam who would fly through a chitstorm of enemy fire to rescue a wounded soldier. Unfortunately, I can't recall his name. What I do remember was that he kept a portable tape recorder in his Huey. As soon as he was in radio range, he would start the tape.
Every field radio within range would come to life with:
"Well don't you ever be sad
Lean on me when times are bad
When the day comes and you're in doubt,
In a river of trouble, about to drown.
Hold on, I'm Coming! Hold on, I'm Coming!"
So, every time I hear that song, my mind goes to that nameless Dustoff rotorhead who risked everything everyday, and I smile.
My regards,
Widewing

Even after all these years and so many times hearing that song, that was once so overplayed it made most people sick, it still gets me "rowdy" as it were. What can I say, its a great song.
Edit:
This is probably my favorite song of all time though... it just has stood the test of time for me:

I caught them a couple of times when I was in high school, great concerts. That vid is blocked for copyright btw, can't watch it.
Also, anything by Lamb of God gets me pumped too, I think it's that double bass.
