Title: Account Pause?
Post by: redman555 on April 28, 2010, 05:46:55 PM
My computer will be gone for 2 weeks because the chipset broke, and I emailed skuzzy two days ago but never got a response.  Is there a way to do an account pause? Since I cant play for 2 weeks I dont wanna lose 2 weeks ive paid for when I cant get on.

Although your request is an honorable one, I doubt very seriously that it will happen. By design or no-fault, when someone is not using their account, it is not the fault of HTC. Their price is a flat monthly rate and not one based on how much time any particular individual may be online. Just imagine if we were charged by the amount of time that we were on. My bill would sometimes reach hundreds a month. I hate that you are experiencing such difficulties with your system and wish you the best of luck in getting it up and running as fast as possible.

Yeah I doubt you can pause it unless you happen to be very close to Skuzzy :)

Have to agree with what 1MADDOG1 said.

We pay a flat monthly rate. Whether you play 10 minutes a month or you spend every waking moment playing, the fee is the same.

'Its still one of the best values out there when you stop and consider how much you would be paying if you were dropping quarters in a machine at an arcade. (do they even exist anymore? or am I really showing my age?)

They still exist, but I havn't seen one that takes less than 2 quarters in a long time.  Most take .75 or $1 per play anymore.   :cry

Negative Ace I would like to think they keep it the same across the board to avoid just that exact thing. " If your close to Skuzzy you get special favors " ... Negative     That would really discourage some people to keep paying monthly fees if they can't all be treated the same. Good point is it's only a few dollars you lose out on for missing two weeks. 15$ a month breaks down to 50 CENTS per day!! I think that speaks for itself. Definetly not the end of the world. Good luck with your PC sir  :salute

When Skuzzy stopped laughing he told me to send you this:

Ace, remember that we don't actually pay on a weekly basis.  We pay a price for a month of service.  It would be the same as going to an online reference with a monthly service fee, signing up, paying, using it to get your data & then telling them "hey nevermind, this isn't what I thought."

I feel for you though.   :salute

I'm not going to play tonight.  I want to pause my account.  And then next week I'm not going to play on Tuesday or Wednesday and the week after that I'm taking Monday off.  Skuzzy, can you pause my account on those days?  Thanks, I knew you didn't have anything else to do.

Oh... BTW, you owe me a couple of extra days for those days I didn't play last week.  Just add them to my current month.  Thanks again.

Another question for this, lets say you pay for a month, then cancle 10 days into your subscirption, how come you cant play anymore? They take the rest of your days. I remmber that happening to me.

you should be able to play up till the due date of your next billing, seems wrong to cancel your subscription say 2 weeks before the billing is due and not be able to play the remainder of that billing cycle
