1) Can every key board command be programmed into the joystick, or just what the "modify" list shows?....
2) When in a vehicle, is there an external view, reference, or map that shows exactly where you are in relation to the base, buildings or other vehicles?......
3) Is there a reference on the map that shows where most the fighting is going on?...Or do you rely on the message board?.....
More silly ?`s to follow...
Thanks

I can answer 2 and 3.
For 2, if you hit 3 it brings up a pintle gun (top hatch) and you can look around easier up top. The only tanks that do not have this are the T34s. So no there is no map, but you can drive in the number 3 position (rudder left/right) but you just have to shift up/down in the driver seat.
For 3, your clipboard map shows darbars, flashing bases, and dots all around. It will show enemy darbar (red) all of the time unless someone is under 500ft or the HQ is down on your side. If a con is within 10 miles above 500ft, and the base's radar that you are at is up, the con will appear as a red dot on the map. You can move around the map by clicking and dragging. Flashing bases mean someone is inside the dar 'ring' (right click map, select "radar"). It will still flash if they are under 500ft (NOE).

Yes, you can map every command to your joystick by either using the AH keymapper or the programming software for your joystick
2) When in a vehicle, is there an external view, reference, or map that shows exactly where you are in relation to the base, buildings or other vehicles?......
No external view in ground vehicles. However, some vehicles have a open drivers hatch that you can stick your head out of for better views. Also, vehicles with a pintle gun gives you a 360 degree outside view. If you bring up the clipboard, you'll see your icon on the map that will show your location in relation to the base. If you zoom in on the map, you can get a better look at your distance.
3) Is there a reference on the map that shows where most the fighting is going on?...Or do you rely on the message board?.....
Look at the clip board. To find a fight, look for the sectors that have a 'dar bar or flashing base. The 'dar bar will give you an idea of how big the fight is, the larger the 'dar bar the more planes in that sector.

Even though the T34 has no pintle gun, you can still use that view to get a good look around.

Should be labeled as "Zoom Toggle" or something similar.
-

"View" controls...
I've mapped the zoom toggle and the zoom in and zoom out to my throttle. Nice easy way to use the binoculars I have stowed in my cockpit for every sortie.

i thought the pintle gun was the one in the front next to the driver? and the one on top of the turret was the top gun or somethign like that?

The T34 has a hull gun...Hull gun is in the hull, pintle is on top.

How do you remap multi-key inputs, such as, I want to map something to Ctrl + L?
I think I've tried but never gotten it to work.

thanks guys! got it! :joystick: :salute

The 3 location in the T34's is the tank commander's position.
Another handy thing in GV's is to set views just as you do in an airplane. In most GV's the driver can "stand up" getting his head above the hull for improved views. While rear view is still blocked by the turret it gives you a nice 270 degree field of view. Don't forget to map the up views to keep track of those pesky airplanes overhead.

On my X52 throttle, the scroll wheel is mapped as follows (Using SST programming software as AH on its own doesn't recognize this):
Depressing it sends "Z" for Toggle Zoom
Scrolling it down sends "]" for zoom in (once each 'click')
Scrolling it up sends "[" for zoom out (once each 'click')
Likewise, the same button in it's "pinkie" or "shifted" state brings up the map, and zooms in/out on the map.

Keymapper?.....
-
You can remap every key on your keyboard, and you can map almost any keyboard command to a joystick/throttle button or switch. Look at my previous post showing the clipboard where I show throttle button mapping. You can map controls and you can map keys.

Is there a key command to zoom in on avatars? I mean , for example , if I wanted to zoom in on Spikes avatar is there a key command for that?

Avatar? I thought it was a live feed :D

I find my monocle works well when viewing Spikes avatar.
