Iv never like the AWACS system we have.
Under the panel of Grumman, is a chart. Pilots pull it out to see corse and the expected pos of the CV for return. it IS NOT updated in REAL TIME.
So many complian about AC that are 'one off' variants should be included in the game.
(Even tho the AC was BUILT during the war.)
AWACS was not.
Also, if Berlin was bombed, the radar at Calais DID NOT go off the air.
If the raiding force is NOE, there shood be NO WARNING of the flashing base.
Even the chain home low couldnt see blo 1k'.
my wish?
Radar is avail to person(s) ONLY at the field/CV, (not in a GV or AC)
and can then direct planes if they choose.
Also, this type of RADAR should also tell the alt and speed of 'Hostile 21'.

The radar in Ah and its settings are not here for realism, but for gameplay.
Now think about how your wish would change gamplay, and lead if it really would lead to more fun for all... or less?
But I do have actually to make a remark on realism:
If the raiding force is NOE, there shood be NO WARNING of the flashing base.
Even the chain home low couldnt see blo 1k'.
Apart from the serious impakt on gameplay, this isn't really true either.
Though radar could not spot very low planes, many other means of detection could, would and did. For example the ground based observers, looking (and listening!) for planes day & night.

Praying for September to come quickly.

Ok then just imagine it as a bunch of civilians and army infantry calling the nearest base and telling them that there are enemy aircraft flying around...no need for AWACS...problem solved. Can't outrun the telephone.

If anything, radar is far far too small. A set of bombers can enter the edge of a field's radar at 20k, drop, and be gone before a scrambling plane can hope of getting up to them and even pretend to stop them before they leave the radar rings on their way home.
Not really realistic, now, eh?
IMO sounds to me like he's taking issure more with the CV field icon on the map rather than the radar, in that case. That case is ONLY applicable with historic setups with very strict control of CVs to never deviate from a set path during a mission, and only applicable where the pilots spend half an hour breifings (at least) before they ever enter the plane. In a MA environment where people can take control of the CV (and in fact MUST to avoid bombers), it's folly to pretend it shouldn't show up on maps. Seriously? Say you just log in, or were fighting over land, and want to do a CV op. How the frak are you going to decide where to go, what fight to find, if you can't see the location of the CV?
As for the rest of your rant, killing an HQ isn't so much killing the radar itself, but the nerve center that guides and dispatches aircraft, the communications hub, all the people moving things around on maps, etc. It's stupidly hard to take out (I haven't seen it taken out in ages) and can be resupplied to a "back up" status within 10 minutes of going down. What's your beef?
As for NOEs, you still aren't on radar. What you're doing is flashing bases because of observer corps hearing your engines, spotting you with binoculars, and reporting you in to the nearest field. As mentioned, you can't outrun the phone.

Kenne you're confusing the main arenas with the scenarios that recreate historical WW2 air combat.

Yup, MA rules are to foster gameplay and people actually finding each other, not to enhance Fog of War.

I do hope you are talking about FSO and other special events? Personally, that is where it is needed.

Radar is already shorter ranged that it was historically, and it doesn't provide information about altitude either.

Trul, but will all them bases, for a example BoB map, was that historically correct?
