just installed the 14.X drivers..a few FPS gained.
Im kinda new at this detonator thing, what are the best drivers for this card?

Probably the 12.90s.

cc..12.9 work best for me. The 14.1 drivers actually lost me a few FPS.

12.90 should be the best for GF3
for GF2 I'd say 12.41 and 12.90 are also best.

I reformatted my hard disk, now for SOME damn reason I only get 10 fps in the tower!!!! :( :( :(
System:
AMD 1.4ghz 512 PC2100 DDR Crucial Ram on Asus A7M266 DDR Mobo,
7200 RPM HDD (50 gigs free)
Asus GEFORCE3 Deluxe using 12.90 drivers
AGP at 4X Sideband:Off
Antialising OFF
D3d and OpenGl setting on default settings
BIOS has 256 RAM as aperture memory
Running system at 1024 res with 120 hz refresh (tried 60, 75, and 100 same results).
Running AH at 1260 32 bit unlimited FPS mode.
Win98 , 95% resources free, no conflicts, was a clean install.
I see people that get 100 fps in cockpit using hi 32bit resolution with gforce 2 and 1 ghz systems.. ideas?

with the newest MB, when u reformat and install windows, it will work but it doesnt
recognize all the MB stuff correctly and will underpreforme alot, i had same prob with
my SE6. all u have to do is get ur MB CDrom
and run the setu.exe that is under
your INF drivers folder on the CD.
once u install those INF files, preformance
should be back up to normal.

Aye, they be the TGART drivers. Already installed so that they recognize the AGP port.
But will put in that CD and give it a spin. Funny thing is , this is the 5th time I reformat it , and on all previous 4 times my fps was 35-45 (which is why I was reformatting, was testing some new drivers from nvidia and some tweaks.. messed up VXD's every time :( )

It installed some VIA drivers (though I believed the A7M266 had no via chipset..hmm)... and fps is still 10 fps on tower.
Argh!!!!

Why is the AGP aperature size so large? Try it at 64 MB and see what happens as an experiment.
You should also install the VIA AGP driver in turbo mode (if you didn't do that).
There will also be new detonator 20.80 drivers out later this week that promise much higher performance. ( see www.anandtech.com (http://www.anandtech.com) )

Elaborate please? I never saw any choice of "turbo" in the installation. URL?
Odd thing though, I use the dx8beta11 and I get 50 fps on the cockpit in-game... without the dx8 beta I get 10fps ON TOWER.
NOW im confused..rofl!
