Ok, I'm a P-40 lover, and there were several variants of P-40 that saw action in squadron service with the RAF, RAAF, and Red Air Force in WWII that we don't have and haven't seen. My personal favorite is the N-model, which mostly saw service with the RAAF as I recall.
Specifications: (P-40N):
Engine: 1360hp Allison V-1710-81 inline piston engine
Weight: Empty 6,000 lbs., Max Takeoff 11,400 lbs
Wing Span: 37ft. 4in.
Length: 33ft. 4in.
Height: 12ft. 4in.
Performance:
Maximum Speed at 10,000ft: 378mph
Ceiling: 38,000ft
Range: 840 miles (with no external tanks)
Armament:
Six 12.7mm (0.5-inch) wing-mounted machine guns
Up to 1,500lbs of bombs on three wing hard-points
Oh yeah, it was sexy. Similar to the P-40E that we already have, but higher performance, which would make it more popular in the MA's imho.

I imagine you would like to have the N if those figures were accurate... which they arent. :devil

if they aren't, please furnish us with the correct specs, after my own research, everything i've looked at complies with the OP's thread

In combat ready configuration (armor and guns with ammunition) the P-40N had a top speed of 350 mph at 16400 feet a service ceiling of 31000 feet (absolute ceiling of 38156 feet) and a range of 750 miles on internal fuel. Figures are published per Warbirds International (Challenge Publications - Sept/Oct 1997) referencing USAAF Air War College Fighter Comparison 1943.
By the way the service ceiling figures are published as the point at which a freshly loaded airplane will climb from sea level to a point at which the aircraft hits a maximum 100 ft/minute rate. I guess it could be misprints... but I doubt it. :D
What your figures reference are a subvariant of the N that was stripped down to 4 x .50s but in actual fact the majority of N model P-40s carried more ordnance and armor and were intended for attack roles. Thats what the air force does they get more power so they load on more 'stuff.' :aok

Even the lightest P-40N model (the N-1) was barely any faster than its predecessors. There was only about a 10mph difference from the E to the N. Other changes moved the full throttle height up and down depending on whether it was a merlin or an allison engine, but overall performance never changed much. Airframe limitations IMO caused this.
The problem was the guns and the gas they took out of the N-1 were sorely missed by pilots, so they put them back in, and then some. Added bomb shackles under the wings, and the N-5 (the most common model) was actually 10mph SLOWER than the P-40E, give or take.
Still, definitely would round out the selection a bit. I'd like to see it, but not because it was the fastest or anything.

I'd take maneuverability over speed any day.

A +1.

Copying and pasting isnt bad, as long as you cross-reference. I will recommend a few sites for you...
