In those screen shots - I noticed you were recording - can you send that film in to support@hitechcreations.com ?

Put "invisible hill film" in subject line.

There are more invisible hills, North of V-164 on the Compello map in Sector 8.7.  But, right when I was about to take a screenie and record it, the server did a "Surprise Reset".  Now it's Bish territory and I can't go back and get pictures (unless we take it from em :lol).  It is about 1-2k North of the Base.

EDIT: Took me a moment to figure that I was NORTH of the base.  I edited to correct position of base.

I screwed up and forgot to save that recording, but I just made another one offline showing some hills that look fine, and others (same ones as in the pic) near the town that are invisible (actually, more like X-ray vision) including me driving on top of them and all that.

Emailing it right now... (coming from bradpool@att.net)

I've seen black spots where the hills should be...  :huh 3 different arenas too...SEAII, MW and LWBlue. I'll see if I can get some screen shots and post them.

I don't know if you were asking me or Volron, but in my case, yes I was.. everything except shadows is on.

(Duh now that I think of it you had to be asking Volron, as it's obvious in my screenshots that detailed terrain is on LOL)

Personally, I feel that the VOX and stability issues should be higher up on the To-Do list, but this would definitely be a close third IMHO.

Good luck, guys!

Yes.  All graphics are maxed and checked except for Shadow On Others.

Compello map, just 500 yards N of V20

all graph details checkmarked but smooth shadow.  sliders are set to medium distance

check this partially transparent BH,  if zoomed in the transparence goes away. It fades away after the angle I look the BH from changes by some degrees, i.e. I start to take off and advance by some hundredths yards

I saw some more "invisible hills" today at 122( I think ) in blue, near the town.  Actually looked more like water till you drove up and over them, look behind you and then it looked like a hill.  Didn't film it since I was just home for 1/2 hour lunch break.

Edit.  Sliders maxed, detailed terrain on, self shadow on.  Others shadows off

I have black holes where I think hills should be getting rendered.

Changed video settings...changed airplanes...not all maps but the maps that have been run so far 2 in LWBlue, 1 in SEA1, and whatever is running in MW.

Still lots of inviso-hills after patch 2.  Hopefully they'll make it in patch 3.

Modest pc here, but all works fine with the exception of some little hills colors as in gyrene81 pictures.
They return to their original colors after some minutes of flight. No invisible hills spotted.

I had the same thing happen to me with invisible hills but when I went to check the film the hills magically appeared in film.

The invisible hills are nearly impossible to detect from the air, and even difficult to spot from the ground because.. well because they are invisible!  HAHA

But seriously.. they aren't just invisible.. they also are 'X-ray' in a sense that all trees and buildings behind them disappear, but the ground and the roads still appear through the invisible 'window' that is the hill.

In a way, this actually makes them harder to spot from a distance.. until you are right up on them...

Ill be looking for this bug in the next few days. What mode are you running in, detail or non detail terrain.

Also if some one finds a way to reproduce I will love to see it.

I am running the hires package and as as soon as I get home I will get a screen shot if I can. Also there are times I see square boxes around trees but not all trees. Will find those also for ya.

I've seen the same thing.  Running 1024 w/ Hi-res. All details maxed (with shadows at 2K and "on others" off).

One I know for sure about is:
Map: Baltic
Sector: 11, 10
When driving from V40 spawn to P36 you will run into one.

Would upload pics but my internet decided it doesn't want me to.

Lets not get too confusing here.  I believe the square boxes around the trees were fixed in 2.19, so make sure that you've seen this occur after the 2.19 update before reporting it as a bug.

Hitech, in my case (of the invisible x-ray hills) I was running hi-res, 1024 textures, all advanced options on EXCEPT for shadows.  I sent a film in per page one of this thread.

If you weren't talking to me, then don't worry about it
