Title: WEP and Acceleration
Post by: Hap on May 16, 2010, 08:21:52 AM
What the book on WEP and whether or no it increases acceleration, and if so, how much?  Did a search, but tough to sort it all out.

I've always regarded WEP as a top end helper.  Am I wrong?

As with most things with air planes, it depends.

Wep will help when the extra power it produces , produces extra thrust. At very slow speeds it does not always produce extra thrust do to the inability or trade off of making a prop bigger. At higher speeds 200 or more it always helps.

Also At some altitudes on some planes WEP is the same settings as mill power.
