I know its a little faster than Bostons same amount of bombs and better defensive armament

Fly a Ki-67 and you might have an idea... Only that the Ki-67 has much better defensive armament.

It was a bit faster than the Ki-67, carried slightly more payload and was produced in larger numbers, seems to have been perhaps a tad more durable.  It wasn't quite as well gunned though.

That said, we have a late war Japanese bomber, we need an early war Japanese bomber.
