Tonight I tried and tried to get a cv group to go between two distant islands. About 7 to 10 miles apart. First of all I couldn't see on the map at all where one of the islands were. Need a better definition on the maps as to where the groups can go. What i did was fly a plane down the middle and try and send the cv to where I was. Even tho there was plenty of room i kept getting the silly 'touches land' message.
It would also be helpful if instead of taking the entire cv group close to shore so the guns can be used that you could split the group. Say the cruiser and 2 destroyers so they can do landing preparation. Realistically a carrier wouldn't be so close but you have to, to get the landings and shelling proper. There's got to be a way to have a max distance for the split group.
Also what's up with the large brown water area next to the land. In some places it's really huge.

not to crash or anything, but how about maps that show where a CV can and can't go
this could be shown with dotted white lines?

I think this idea is a good one. There's still plenty of more better options to do with taskgroups and such.

Sector 13.4 right? The sea floor is close to the ocean's surface right there. :bolt:
All kidding aside, it would be cool to have a "Task Groups Menu" that showed us depth and safe passages... Which would then be a precursor for the addition of underwater boat operations... :O
I also find the idea of being able to stop a CV group, a reasonable request.......... :salute

Or better, just the opposite. Run a CV group too close to shore and it runs aground and sinks.
