As my first contribution to the Wishlist, I would like to point out this aircraft.
Engines: Two 905-hp Bristol Mercury XV radial piston engines
Weight: Empty 9,790 lbs., Max Takeoff 14,400 lbs.
Wing Span: 56ft. 4in.
Length: 42ft. 7in.
Height: 9ft. 10in.
Performance:
Maximum Speed: 266 mph
Cruising Speed: 198 mph
Ceiling: 27,260 ft.
Range: 1,460 miles
Armament: Three 7.7-mm (0.303-inch) machine guns, plus up to 1,000 pounds of bombs internally and 320 pounds externally.
I've cross checked these stats a few times, it had a crew of three people. 4x 250 lb or 2x 500lb bombs, plus 8x wing mounted 40lb bombs. The guns are weak, but I think it would be a decent GV killer, and an effective way to get some perk points. I'm not sure whether it would be considered a Bomber, or fighter in the game, as it was converted into a night fighter later in the war, but still retained some of its bombing capabilities.

The Blenheim was pretty poor practically obsolete at the start of the war,the Beaufighter was an awesome plane I met pilots who flew both mossies and beaufighters and most preferd the beaufighter enough said.
shotdown.

Since when was the Beaufighter in this thread? There were plenty of planes that were obsolete at the outbreak of war, but still saw action... Ju-87, I-16, P-40. The point is, it doesn't matter how obsolete it is, it matters how important it WAS. The Blenheim WAS important in the early days of the war.

Ah yes the ole "obsolete" argument...thing is, the Blenheim was stationed in a lot of places and it took part in a lot of early war action on 2 fronts...besides it fills an early war gap in the British plane set.

The backbone of RAF Bomber Command at the start of WWII was the Wellington. The Blenheim is only a gap filler to people who want to enforce artificial German superiority.
The Blenheim could be added eventually, but it is far from the top of the British list, let alone the entire list.

I agree that the Wellington was a larger part of the early war RAF bomber command, but the Blenheim could have more than one model, an early war version of the attacker/bomber, and a later model of the Heavy fighter. Just food for thought.

karnak is right,I can imagine a lot of people would like to fly the Wellington in aces carnt see many takers for the Blenheim tho.

Wrong :neener: Though outmatched it was heavily used in Europe from the outbreak of BoB until it was replaced, also by Finland and in the PTO it was used by British and Dutch forces until better fighters replaced it. :joystick:

yeh, better fighters like the Beaufighter a plane I would love to to be able to fly in aces.

Good for you, but you're not the only player in AH :P Some pilots, like a few guys over in Kommando Nowotny... :aok Like to fly the dated or "outclassed" planes sometimes. It is a way to give yourself more of a challenge. This game wouldn't be very fun without the older models of aircraft. The Blenheim would offer a dated British version of something like a Ju-88 (which I fly regularly).
-
you mean like the spit1 and hurri1s that I fly a lot, actually the more glaring omissions in the game would be on the german side where are the dorniers and heinkels? Sorry mate but Blenheims wont be getting my vote.

Very well, I do enjoy flying me a Hurri mk1 and spit mk1 every now and then :aok

You meant Bristol "Beaufighter". It's an easy mistake to make :)
