Title: Defense of V28
Post by: Viper61 on May 22, 2010, 03:01:38 AM
<S> to USMC and the 367th.  Good coordination's and planning combined with rock solid squad to squad communications equaled a great defense.  And man what action at V28!!!!!  Always a pleasure to work with squads that give the check 6 calls and work hard as a larger group.

Most fun I have had in a FSO frame in a long long time.

<S> to the AXIS attackers:  JG-53 / JG-2 and Rolling Thunder.  A very good plan of attack that worked very well.  It looked like V-28 was about 50-60% destroyed and I know your loss's were high but you got in there and hit the target.

To the A6M pilots great effort to push our defenses out of sector and or pull them down.  You gave us a 20 minute battle alone.

To the D3A pilots after your bombs were released I never saw so many D3A's dancing circles around our Hurri's, Brewster's and P-40's.  That was another 10 minute fight!!!!  My Hurri had plenty of BB holes in it when I landed :)

Most of the V 28 defense AC ran out of ammo chasing zero's and Val's all over the place.  Of the few that RTB'ed or towered out I don't think had much or any ammo left on their planes, I know I was completely out.  I wish now I had some pics!!  What a fight down at V28 <S> to both sides.

Dont forget the 353rd fg was in those zeros as well ! I for one had a great time.
Even though I came out without a single kill, I still had a time ! <S> to all involved ! A great bunch of pilots in FSO !
