With all due respect, you ruined it with a horribly over played song by Zeppelin. Even further damage was done by a song, by a good band who long sold out by the Black Album. Had you said "Orion" by Metallica, we'd be talkin'.
Bottom line, your picks aren't any better.

Man it'd be real friggin hard to pick a favorite song of all time...I get into moods where you could ask me in a month and the answer would be totally different.
Here's what I'm stuck on now though:
Blue Cheer
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFhhxKlqm2Y&feature=related
and
Deep Purple

Stairway to Heaven- good song, yes, overplayed, oh well
Wherever I may Roam- not the best song, just one a lot of people know, trying to get the ball rolling.
If you want to know my real picks, it would probably be Ballad of Curtis Lowe-Lynyrd Skynyrd or Best of My Love-Eagles.
Believe that if you can :aok

Hey Uptown, check out some of the stuff by Uncle Tupelo, they led what was later called the "alternative country" movement back in the 90's and they have songs the run the width and breadth of popular music from punk to traditional folk covers.
Their 3rd album "March 16-20 1192" is all acoustic, recorded at Peter Buck's home (of REM fame).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ppiol9oetOk (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ppiol9oetOk)
They also covered the old Carter Family song "No Dpression"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wT1EbMTqYek&feature=related (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wT1EbMTqYek&feature=related)
Probably one of their more well known songs, the band is dead but the songwriters still performs this song with his new band Son Volt.
