Missons are nice cause they get the fight going if they fail and even if they succeed.

There is a new wing of a popular squadron... it is called

'The Mass Report Wing' and their motto is "We may not be able to shoot you down, but we'll make sure you can't tell anyone about it."

Be careful, Junky, they are out there...

But why ruin the mission? can't you just post in on 200 when the mission is over?  :D
Seriously though, why would you want to mess up the mission? missions can start fights after they succeed as well

Lol junky that reminds me of the time I had the m3 that captured a TV base then the mission guys left and nobody would help me defend it after 20 minutes of being the sole defender I switched countries and brought back m3 to take base back.

NOE missions deserve to be called out. They really ruin the game imo.

High alt strat missions should be called out by flight lead once they are comfortable with alt and escort. But give enough warning for a chance to be intercepted b4 target.

Whether he posted it on 200 or country channel, wouldn't that ruin the mission just as well?  Looks to me like he wanted them to know he knew about it, so really it doesn't matter.  It's more of an " I see you!" kind of thing I think!

I dont understand what you did??  You planned a mission and then announced it on ch 200 so people would up and defend?  or you saw a countrymate's mission in progress and announced it to ch 200??

Either way why would it merit a posting on the bbs?  You come across like a petulant 15 yo that no one wants to play with so they keep going "look at me...look at me!!!"

Who are you trying to impress with this type of post dude?

Careful with those 200 announcements! If it is done too few times for too long, people can take advantage of it and direct a counter-attack to a fake mission and then profit from the enemy's response against an nonexistent foe to lighten the load on other sectors. Hence purposefully giving the traitor's side a more advantageous temporary strategic position.

This is one possible side effect of announcing missions on 200 in the short term. In the long term, calling out and ALERT message on the country channel will be in vain because no one will believe it anymore for those that don't listen to 200; and there is a lot of them thankfully (unless the dar bar is up at its fullest of course).

Any NOE mission of 10 or more should be called out by default. There is a difference between having fun and wanting to stomp out the opposition and 10 is more than enough to make any basetake challenging.
IMO opinion, these massive NOE capture base takes do nothing for the game but destroy it. Sure its fun to work as a team and achieve some sort of victory, but lately too many ppl are in the mode to race for resetting the map. You would think that these guys would capture some undefended territory and hopefully stir things up defending etc.., but its always the same ol story. NOE with 50 guys, capture undefended field, rinse-repeat, base flashes..same guys NOE at another field.
That really needs to go here, whether HTC puts a max on the mission planner or the missions get called out when it is an overwhelming advantage.

The mission was doomed anyhow with our CV right at the port. I don't think the mission planners realized that until they got there.  :P We got a good laugh out of that  :lol

I give junkyII's actions a fail. If others could guess where the mission was going based on radio chatter on 200, then fine. But going "hey, a bunch of 110's are hitting 53, just letting you know" is a little sad IMO. If you wana start a fight, drag some friends to a base and start shooting at uppers. Others will be drawn by the dar-bar, I guarentee.

I was part of that NOE mission, I dont think that JunkyII meant to broadcast it over 200 as he broadcast the exact message over country seconds later. The mission failed, I still had fun, got shot down by a Whirble. I have accidently broadcast over 200 in MW '"Im bringing a goon to 43" was a total brain fart on my end, but got called a spy and had peeps PM me saying all kinds of stuff. I think at the end of the day we all have to realize its just a game, we are all here to have fun.

Calling out a mission on open channel with the pathetic excuse of doing it to try and start a fight is no different than some toolshedder taking out the fighter hangers to ruin the furball.  The excuse of doing it to start a fight is exactly what it is, a roadkill excuse by someone that is just a dick and wants to ruin someone elses fun.  Even more pathetic when the said tool comes to the boards to brag about his amazinhunk behavior.

NOE missions are by default, NOT honorable, and deserve no such respect. I used to bichh about the Bops a lot, but at least they have the cajones to stay above dar and dare people to meet the onslaught :aok (on their way to an otherwise empty base, of course :D)

NOE mega missions are so sad, they deserve to be called out. They usually are looking for an undefended base. If they cant capture that base in 5 minutes after they get there, they abandon the fight because people start to fight back. They regroup and launch another mission to another undefended base until they succeed. Ive seen this go on for hours some nights. Behavior like that demands getting called out. The "planned" horde ruins fights and arena balance.

Ignorant? How exactly was it ignorant, JunkyII? Come on, give me examples, details. I find myself agreeing Relic.

And bj229r, an NOE raid takes advantage of a lack of preformance in the enemy's techology. Honestly, you sound like you think its only fair if they other side says "here I am, I'm gona let you up, and climb out to 10k, and pin us on the deck".

If an NOE mission is spotted before hitting the target it was not planned or executed correctly.

The poster of this opinion has failed to study military history and tactics.  The element of surprise has been around far longer than the book "Art of War".

If you get taken by surprise then there is no one to blame but yourself.  Bases/towns BLINK.....tap-tap-tap......HELLOOOOOOOO.

Are people to be blamed for not sitting in the tower for extended periods, watching the map? It's still a surprise. It takes about 2 minutes between town starts to flash and the attackers being all over it. How many players are able to react and up in that small time frame? You basically have to sit in the tower scanning the map when the town starts to flash. But actually most players a playing  at any given time = they are in a sortie. And if it's one of those 15+ players mega NOE it's almost impossible to muster any defense in time.

(And no, I'm not for removing NOE from game ;) )

I think it was his own country's mission from the way I read it being on 200 not sure.  If thats the case no one would see it on country on the other side.

People pay thier money to play the game. If doing NOE is what they do, to take take territory either moving forward or taking territory back . So be it, let them play thier game. As mentioned before the city will flash either being gv's or a NOE. Some people or squads , I guess, play to win the war. Great so be it.
Telling on one's own country men about a mission on 200 is another story.
It's not hard to start a fight and myself and others have done it. Go to another base, enemy of course and go start dropping bombs on it. Usually there will be uppers to protect the base and wala, the fight is started.

No...it's a sign of a bunch of .....vaginas. If you can't get 10 competent people to up with whatever, fly to an empty base and take it, ya need to go back to drawing board

The problem is that they rarely stay empty. About the only time I'm able to use GV's around an airfield is when a giant furball is going on. Otherwise, within 2 mins of the base flashing, an A20 or an Il-2 ups and kills me (you CAN'T defend against high angle attacks).

You basically have to sit in the tower scanning the map when the town starts to flash. But actually most players a playing  at any given time = they are in a sortie. And if it's one of those 15+ players mega NOE it's almost impossible to muster any defense in time.

Not true lusche, once I spotted an NOE raid when I upped a set of lancs. When I saw them, I bailed, called them out, and upped an La-7. Only 3 people upped at the base, yet we killed all 11 aircraft within 3 mins.

11 would be a very mild NOE mission. I could care less if a squad wants to get together and roll some bases with 10-12 of their squaddies. Its fun working together for a common goal.
What gets me are those 20-30 missions that are just unnecessary. They want the NO opposition. They want their cake and eat it too. It is annoying because they are dictating their gameplay is fun and having no regard to the other guys fun. Yet when 1 guy against 20 busts their missions, the 3 star generals get all butt hurt and upset.
Funny thing is these guys love using these horde tactics, but are always upset when the tactic is used on them.

Not true lusche, once I spotted an NOE raid when I upped a set of lancs. When I saw them, I bailed, called them out, and upped an La-7. Only 3 people upped at the base, yet we killed all 11 aircraft within 3 mins.

I said "almost"... that means "there are exceptions"

But they are not the norm. I said 15+ players, which is not that uncommon when certain squads/generals are starting the roll. The usual horde NOE wins 8 or 9 out of ten. 1 or 2 times they get stopped, mostly because one or two lucky or clever defenders manage to get all the goons.

Also I notice you said "I bailed"... and that was one of my points. Most players are inflight at any given time, and I doubt many are willing to bail just to check out a flashing base or following the call to help a horded base.
I know I am not.

Really your going to judge a person by how they play a game.....then say thats what wrong with the world today....I giggled at that

The BBS is not a/the game.  I assume he is referring, not so much that you called out the mission in game, but that you came here to brag that you did it -- As is you deserve a reward for outstanding citizenship.  As I read the posts, I think you are not being judge by game play... you have been judged as a dickhole because of your attitude.

I bailed from a set of lancasters, when I was going to drop the VH's on a Vbase. The reason I bailed is that it was our only airbase for around 4 sectors, and all our CV's were around 5-6 sectors away (we couldn't just up an LVT while the hangers were still down)

Yet when 1 guy against 20 busts their missions, the 3 star generals get all butt hurt and upset.

forget 11, my group has even had the nuts to go to take bases with 6 at the most sometimes.

First off, I like 10-12 player missions better too. I prefer not to post missions at all. OTOH, if there's lots of opposition, a big mission is necessary. It all depends on the situation.

That being said, what I don't get is how so many people here think an NOE horde against an empty base is ruining anyone's fun or ruining the game. If it's an empty, undefended base, then by definition there is no one there to have their fun ruined. So they're doing something you think is stupid. Why do you let what other people do bother you so much? So it's impossible to effectively defend the base. Well, you don't care about taking bases or winning the war anyway, so why does it bother you? Do you lose sleep at night because some people like country music and you only like jazz? Are you all knotted up inside because you root for the Yankees but there exist other people in the world who root for the Red Sox? Same for Junky - if he doesn't like NOE missions why can't he just ignore them and fly somewhere else? The MA is big and has lots of people and I guarantee you there are other people to fight who are not in an NOE horde mission. You can have all the fun you want without being a total bunghole to people who play differently.

If my squad is taking bases and trying to win the war, I don't care if you're somewhere else on the map ignoring the war and just looking for 1-1 fights. Have fun however you like. But don't tell me I'm ruining your fun by not playing the way you like. If that's what you think you're just a self-centered little brat who thinks the world ought to revolve around you and your preferences. Which is a pretty good description of JunkyII.

You ruin my fun when you close down the hangars and I am forced to fly from a base in the back to come attack your horde.  Then, you capture the base and all land before I even get there and I am left with nothing.  My fun = ruined.   :cry

Be quick boys, get those undefended bases and get your butts in the towers fast!!! Because you know what happens when The Muppets get to your bases before you have troops out.

Honor?

In a video game?

 :rofl

Noble thought, though.

I DO believe that Junky has a black belt in Kuh-Razy, though   :rofl

What is NOT fun about spoiling NOE Mishuns on undefended bases?
