I have a tnt2 ultra oc 175 /200 running in 1152 864 32 bits . processor is a cel 566 oc 850.
my frame rate ( 29 with b17 at f1 south RW with map on)ok except IN SMOKE ( 7-15 fps max)..
I would like to know if a gforce DDR or a GTS could improve really my FPS in smoke ...
other question : what is the FSAA setting usable in 1024 or 1152 32 bits with a DDR or GTS card.
thanks for your experience ...

yes, you will get a very noticeable improvement.
I used tnt2 ultra and things crawled at 32bit around smokeand i upgraded to voodoo5 (slower than geforce) and now i get 40fps in smoke at 32bit 1152x864. normal flight i get above 70fps
duron 1ghz
256 pc133
i am changing my voodoo for a geforce this week i'll try to remember and let u know how it does

i have a P3 650e @ 866 with geforce2 64 meg DDR and i get 80 to 100 fps flying
and 30 fps in hvy smoke @ 1280 res 32bit.
FSAA is how it handle texture lines in the game. most time lines appear jagged or stairstep, FSAA smooths them out but
u take a fps hit when u use it.
prettier pic but less fps.

A have a little page up that shows you what FSAA will do. At least in a still picture... it looks even better when moving.

Just FYI.
