Why would you not change it?  TaNk WaRz has something for everyone.  These guys will love furballin 109g6 on Spit VIIIs.

How did you accomodate us? By not having your own personal bomber mission stuff run on Tuesday night and allowing the already planned and posted setup run without your interference? Hey thanks mighty big of you AVA Lord of the AVA High Command.  :aok

i accomodated you guys on tuesday

God what an ego. :lol

I say put the Tank Warz idea up for vote.  Each member of the AvA staff and the AvA development group get to cast a ballot.  If the majority think Tank Warz is a good idea, I won't say another peep about it.  If they don't it gets changed to a historical set-up say "Relief of Bastogne" or some other historical set-up fitting for Memorial Day Weekend.  Sounds pretty fair to me.

i'd actually like to play something like this now that we have shermans :aok

i need to say one thing though...without objectives for both sides these setups will just be furball after furball.

oh and bug? i went to the finland map...didn't see any GV battles. and what happened tuesday? captain's bombing run was on wednesday. i wanted to shoot them down but the radar went up in flames and i ended up freaking furballing again...

Maybe it's because the people that frequent the AvA prefer to fly aircraft in historical match-ups.  I can't help the unpopularity of GVs in a flight sim, but the option was there to do a historical matched GV battle.

i understand mate. just next time dont single me out. trust me, i wish the AvA was much more historically accurate than it is at the moment

Always have had this wish myself and always will...however it isn't going to happen until you add more aircraft like the ones I posted in another thread. http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,289703.0.html

Yep.  How many threads are there out there asking for Japanese Oscar or Betty?  With some imagination, we have been able to do with the George, Frank and Peggy.  Nice link and site Reschke, another bookmark for my research thanks.

Maybe the larger problem is, how many historical matchups present a fair fight?  In history, there were other factors included:  availability and numbers, pilot training, weather, etc.  I am definitely not arguing against filling in the gaps.  I am simply stating that attention is given to the best available matchup that was represented in historical combat.  Take a look at the Military Channel episodes of Dogfights or read about obstacles, defeats and strategies that made for some really lopsided battles.

For this historical reason, I like having rolling plane sets over a period of time, with each side having a brief advantage over the other.  Kept things interesting.   But I agree with having the best available matchup too.
