I met that little dude quite a few years past. Not a very nice or like-able person. Real attitude problem. Nothing like the characters he played on TV.

Gary Coleman has died as the result of injuries he suffered earlier this week, the hospital tells TMZ.
We've learned Gary's wife, Shannon, made the decision to pull life support early this AM.
We're told Coleman died at 12:05 PM MST. He died of a intracranial hemorrhage.
Family members and close friends were at Coleman's side when life support was pulled.
He was 42.
As TMZ first reported, Coleman was rushed to a hospital in Utah after he fell and hurt his head. He was on life support since Thursday.
There will be a press conference at the hospital at 3:00 PM PT.

I don't like to pity anyone, and I'm sure he wouldn't want it, but I have to express myself and say what a tragic little fellow. Hope he is peacefully at rest eternal now.

Where did you meet him Maverick?
I ran into him at a now closed hobby store in Tucson. He was really into electric trains.
I didn't talk to him, just went about my business.

Maverick is right, Gary Coleman was a violent, cheating, wife beating dirtbag. He's been up on charges several times for beating his wife, mistresses etc, as well as misc drug related stuff and reckless driving not to mention all his financial troubles. I have a cousin who lives in the same neighborhood as he did, and I can tell you that not one of his neighbors liked him at all, the police were always being called out to his house for one thing or another. I don't think any of the locals will miss him at all, nor will I.
Hopefully he finds some peace and contentment wherever he is now, cause he sure never found it in this life.

I had more respect for Art Linkletter than I did Gary Coleman.

I remember in the late 60's or early 70's his youngest daughter died from a drug-induced suicide...it was painful to watch the poor guy after that. Don't know if I could have gotten through the same

I read a news article the other day that said no drugs were ever found in her system at the time of her death.
Then came the Los Angeles Coroner’s report: Linkletter died from “cerebral contusions, extensive, as well as massive skull fracture and multiple fractures of extremities” . . . she had no drugs in her system at the time. (Art responded by stating that she was suffering from an “LSD flashback.”)
Ironically though, Ed Durston, who was with Diane Linkletter when she leaped from that window was also last seen with 1960's Game show and Sitcom star Carol Wayne when she was found dead in Mexico in 1985.
Coincidence? or something else?

She had problems to be sure, drugs were merely an indication of them, whether she was doing them that day or not. (I'm thinkin that guy was only reason the 'acid' thing got into the news)

Traffic stop. He had a lead foot and liked to speed in school zones as well as other residential areas. I talked to several other Officers who ran across him. The guy was just being a real hemorrhoid in and out of his vehicle. He really got bent when you didn't give him a break because he was a "star". He also tried to get past his suspended license by getting another one in a different name. He got caught for that too.

I was able to meet Gary a number of times. He started his career as a child model with the "Wendy Wards" modeling at Montgomery Wards (where I workes as a high school kid) in Waukegan Illinois. He and his folks lived in nearby Zion, IL. Even after he was a local celebrity, doing TV commercials for a Chicago bank, he would still come int to visit friends at the store. His folks were always nice but wouldn't let his childhood celibrity spoil him.
I worked in the Toys/Lawn & Garden department. He would come in with his folks and since he was a BIG HO scale train enthusiast, he always perused the train aisle and looked for something new. His folks would let him buy ONE and ONE new train car or set of track each visit and no more. I ran the cash register for many times he came in for train cars.
His life certainly took a turn for the worse and his health was always an issue--even when he was a kid. He also had bad legal issues and I was saddened to read of mis-deads....I was hoping he would straighten things out and live a long life. :(
His life was far too short.

Too bad, just another superstar (at some point) flaming out....... I hoped he would have pulled through, must have been a pretty bad injury.
