I was reading the AH wiki page on the osti, see if any of the links were helpful. It said that the osti was "very rare to see in the MA" :rofl. Of course I had to fix that, seeing as ostis make up about 1/3rd of the flackers you encounter. Its getting a little crazy, that one sounded like someone created an account and just started typing without having set foot in the MA :noid.

Osties are far less than 1/3rd of all flackers. They are indeed quiet rare since the WW showed up.
Usually, WW's have about 5 times the Kills&Deaths compared to Osties.
When looking at kills only, it's even higher:

Murdr wrote it.
Although, as you had it, this statement is true enough.

Bar graphs are the new thing! :D

but nothing beats a pie chart :D

Never called him stupid. You called him stupid. And the 1/3rd thing was exagerated, I will admit, but its a long way from "rare".
And is that just kills? I seems like for every 3 wirbs that up for base defense, I see an osti up and blow the crap out of some low flying B-24's.

I like the osi, field gun on wheels. Providing uber pawnage of 3K buffs and dive hoin noobs since tour XXX.

The 1/5th is kills & deaths combined. And I absolutely do not see a Ostie for every 3 Wirbs.
Generally spoken, Osties are a bit more prevalent at VBase defenses, where you can expect some low to medium alt buffs attacking. You can almost never see them defending airbases, or rolling to a town to fend off CV planes attacking it.

Just don't perk the M-16, I love that girl :D

 I vote pie charts all day long.
This bar graph thing is not so much

The Osti would see much greater use if they would tone down the random dispersion of the 37mm gun.

Or lightly perk the wirb... just saying.

Unperked wirbys don't bother me.
Placing my osti pipper on the propeller hub of a diving IL-2 and watching the rounds go over over under over left over left right under over right right *crap, there goes my turret* kind of does bother me.

Perhaps thats whats affecting my perception. Since I'm usually at Vbases, I'm probably seeing a skewed sample of flack ratios.
And I have the same problem: 1 round is JUST under his nose, the second is to the left of the cocpit, and damn, my turret's out. well thats inconvienent Even so, I find the osti is more usefull, as even one round will kill most planes. There is a lower chance of hits, especially at long range, but even one hit is likely to be fatal.

While Lusche's data seems to be in order and accurate im going to have to disqualify it for not being presented in the form of a pie chart.
( :lol at the OP's fail)

QFT.
Unreal how much flex is in that round's trajectory. It's gotta be about 20 feet at 800m.

That's about right, though at D800, 90% of rounds are inside a 5 feet radius (circle of 10 feet diameter)

That can't be accurate, can it? It seems like a 10-15 ft circle should be about the max at 800yds.
