Two Kilmov M-105RA (VK-105PF) 12-cylinder liquid-cooled pistion engines, rated at 1,260-hp(939-kW0,with two-speed superchargers.
Performance
Maximum speed at sea level279mph (449 km/h)
Maximum speed at 16,400 ft(2000m);314mph (506 km/h) range 1,100 miles (1770 km)
Climb to 16.400 ft (5000m); 7 minsService Ceiling: 29.530 ft (9000m)
Armament
(Fixed) Typically two 0.3-in (7.62-mm) ShKAS machine-guns firing ahead aimed by pilot, MV-3 dorsal turret with single 0.5-in (12.7-mm) UBT. one ShKAS in rear ventral position, and one ShKAS in left or right rear beam position
Other Armaments
Six 100-kg (220-lb) or four 250-kg (551-lb),whilst additional 100-kg bombs could be carried singly in each engine nacelle, with a further two more such weapons could be carried on racks under each wing centre section. Later in the war, after the power of the Pe-2 had been increased, the four external weapons carried underwing could be increased to 250-kg external weapons. TO reduce speed during the dive and stabilise the aircraft. large and powerful slatted 'Venetian-blind' hydraulicallyactuated dive-breaks hinged down from under the wing. Carrying a 2,205-lb (1000-kg) bomb load, the pE-2FT had a range of approximately 817 miles (1315 km)

The Soviets do need a legit bomber, no doubt. Maybe the Tu-2 would be a better "fill in the gap" contender? It was a level bomber, but it also was designed to dive bomb as well.

I agree, although the Tu-2 was very similar to the Pe-2 no doubt. I guess we should have both. :)

Well im pretty sure that Lancs were never designed to dive bomb, or hamerhead and loop so seems to be anything goes at this point.....
+1 on more bombers... Any that could be added at the MW level?
-
+1 the pe2 and tu2 would be great additions to the game

Does this plane have a well known history in the war helping out maybe in big battles or operations by any chance.
-
Is that a statement or a question?

lol question.

They built about 11,000 of them. Yes, it played a major role.

Stalingrad, Kursk, Bagration. ie the biggest battles of WWII all featured marks of the PE-2,
TU-2 only got to play a major role in Bagration. PE-2 was also originally designed as a dive bomber with dive flaps.
-
If we think about it in the terms of historical significance, Pe-2 is the most needed bomber by far for AH planeset.

He111 and Wellington would give it a definite run for its money. G4M is pretty high too.

If there would be some other Soviet level bomber in the game, I'd agree. Not that there's much point arguing about this to one direction or another, though. All four of them are definate work horses of WWII and hopefully get implemented sooner rather than later.

Great combination of a great historical aircraft that actually fits well in the play of the game and looks hot.
It really should have been in years ago. Reference data might be an issue.
