Didn't the auto ack on bases used to catch fire when destroyed? (Way back when)
I wondered what it would be like if the manned guns would smoke when they were destroyed? For one, when attempting a capture of a Port, if nothing was shooting and manned gun was smoking, the goon should have the green light for troops to take.
The main reason for this request from me is the distance required for me to distinguish downed from live manned ack is :O dangerously in range of its sites. I don't know if this is another area where my 19" monitor is just not cutting it anymore. :uhoh
Well, from a guy who can't wait until Miles Sound System is back, you can bet that I am :old: loosing my vision and needing to depend on some other senses. Oh, Hitech if you can't put the smoke on downed manned ack guns, then could you add the smoke smell? :rofl (I thought you had that in an older version also, but as I recall it was my old overclocked video card). :lol

Then how am I suppose to turn off tracers and blast away at those who think all ack is down!?

+10 even if it's just a light gray wisp of smoke that trails up.
Jayhawk can sit in his smoking gun.

I have never tried to smoke a gun..............
........Although I was committed in the 90's for trying to smoke a banana.

You can't turn off tracers in a field gun.

You can't turn off tracers in a field gun.
Tell that to the guys that didn't ever seen my bullets. Maybe it was a bug and I didn't realize it, but I sure as heck couldn't see any tracers, and it took them a while before they started shooting guns.

Might be time for a better display. I can see the manned acks a long way off.

Bought the monitor last year, it's a 17in Sony, can't remember model. Video settings are at full blast and I'm running a frame rate of 75, I don't think that's the problem.

do what I do ask somebody else to check the gun then aproach from different direction.

If you turn off tracers in a manned gun, you can't see them but they are still visible to others. I tried it myself once.

Guns in AH never caught fire.

I was starting to wonder that, I guess those red guys were just stupid to repeatedly fly over my firing manned gun.

Raptor, I wasn't sure either, but I do remember that when the switch came from AH to AH2 there were some changes in the fields that had to do with too many fires causing frame rate drops. I stand corrected if that was not true of guns in AH1.
-
They did not smoke in AH1, they exploded then they were gone.
I need to work on not being so blunt in my posts :lol

:rofl Raptor,
I have to work on not being so senile :old: Okay, back to question of manned ack up or down? If it is smoking, then no question, it's down.

Maybe for some of us, it's our eyeballs. I haven't heard if Sony has had an update on them lately. :D Oh well, just another excuse for me to stay away from trying to capture bases, and keep furballing.
