Early promotion...Normally you get E-4 at 24 months time in service, I got mine in 20.

BTW Yea I know my last ha..."Collard Greens!!! Get over here and DO PUSH - UPS!!!"    Heard that in Basic after I told the private who was in charge of our platoon(PG) to diddly off when he told me to do push ups lol

Ah meritorious promotion. Leave it to the Army to require a watermelon and call it a waiver for an early promo. You get a waiver in the Corps and it meant you were not required to do something, we called them paper skates because anyone who had one was "skating" out of something the rest of us were forced to do.

So, how many sets of kneepads did you have to wear out to get the promotion?  :lol

Honestly,
Im the least senior(shortest time in the military) Team Leader in an entire battalion. We had a Team Leader and above meeting with CSM and he was like wtf when he looked at me wearing PFC. Im in charge of 3 soldiers not including myself, I deserve to get payed more then those 3 soldiers. No brown nosing went on, just alot of hard work and late nights.

Thanks all :salute

Gratz on the promo man.  Unless its changed, your PS and PL can recommend you for early board after 6 months if you meet the points.  When I was in, points for 11 series were low.

Thank you for your service, GL with whatever you do.

Oh, is Col. Steele still there?  He was BC of one of the Bats when I was at Drum.  Was it 2-87th?  My Engineer Platoon was attached to the 1-87th IR.

Your talking about THE Col Steele.....more commonly known to the civilian world as that bald guy from Black Hawk Down?

If so then no he isn't, Hes actually a Brigade Commander with 101st(I think he has the roccasans, spelling???)

I think he was the 2-87 battalion commander awhile back though.

As for points, I got quite a bit by the new system that suppose to come out here soon but points for all MOSs is getting higher becuse we got too many NCOs. I dont think Ill go to the E-5 board till the see me in Combat but Im going to make sure that I have enough points to get it pinned as soon as I do.

Thank you all :salute

Yeah I was talking about the bald guys from Black Hawk Down.  He seemed like an ok person the one time I met him.  I don't even know what my old unit is now since they restructured the division.  I was attached to 1-87 Task Force when I was there.

Man I really miss New York :P  Never thought I would say that, but thinking about it, it really wasn't bad.

I lived in the housing area in Gouvenour (sp?).

They still have that there?
