on the runway or taking off with slight back elevator, when shooting with tracers on, it looks like its firing from behind you. did it in the TA and in the late war

Shhh!  Secret SAPP modification.  It took a lot of bottles of scotch to get those rear guns.

It's on optical illusion.  The guns are nose mounted so you're basically flying through the tracer smoke streams and since the smoke trails don't dissipate immediately, it appears as though the tracers are coming from behind you giving it the appearance you describe.
