Just an idea that I wish for
but maybe we could have a sqaud perk system,
how it would work is perks are generated for the sqaud to use when ever they wish and they would be aquired through sqaud mates participating in missions, the amount of perks they aquire is then halved and addeed to sqaud perks bank
the more people from the same sqaud in the same mission, the more it is multiplied eg; 2 people = sqaud perks x2 3 people = sqaud perks x3 and so on...
The perks can then be used for the sqaud to use OR the sqaud to use for missions that they run and the perked vehicles/aircraft are 'on the house' so to speak
give me your thoughts and idea's to maybe improve this?

I can see where your going with this but you have to remember some squads are alot smaller then others :salute

Anything that provides the opportunity to transfer perk points to another player will introduce 'commerce' to AH.
This opens a completely new and totally undesirable element of abuse that you really, really don't want.
I would love to see the ability to give perks to other players, but the behavior by those given an opportunity to get something for nothing will completely alter the gameplay environment. I've seen it in other games where you can get people to pay you for services that you can use to buy some other toy or service, and I've heard of other games where gangs of free-loaders will park outside transportation hubs and beg for 'money' instead of spending the time engaging in missions and other means to earn them.
Here is a recent thread on the same topic.

In your example.. if your squad posted a mission with 262s and some new guys fly them.. right into the ground.. your squad perks are gone and you're probably not going to be very happy with them. Keep in mind, there are probably people that would wreck them just to be mean. Really.
Just more drama we'd have to deal with.
Also, if it were possible to post such missions, can you imagine how many people would beg for missions to be built with such perks planes?
Freeloader#1: Can somebody post a 262 mission that I can join? Please?

This is not what i'm asking, not at all
Although this (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,290721.0.html) idea has good intentions people would abuse it as you have already said
There could be timer from which a member must be a part of the sqaud to be able to have access to the squad perks eg; 1 to 2 months?
or introduce ranks into squads, when someone trys to access the perks it must be allowed by one of these officers
these Idea's are idea's trusted people could manage but also bring responsibility into the matter which i'm sure these trusted people could handle

Avanti,
I see what you're saying. And I think your approach is one of the best I've seen.
However, I'm sure that somebody will figure out a way to circumvent whatever controls/restrictions are placed to get around them.
Once those steps are discovered, they will be followed and requested ad nausem.
The problem with basing anything on a squad is that they can be so dynamic and uncontrollable.
What happens if the person in charge of the squad's perk bank doesn't want to risk them on 262s or other rides?
Drama.
What happens if a couple of 'buds' raid the squad's perk bank and drain them in an evening of drunken squalor flying ME163s into mountains? "Here, virtually hold my beer and watch this!!"
More drama.
When a squad disbands, how are these perk banks allocated?
More drama.
You're still introducing a commodity to the game.. and with such a commodity, there will be abuse and emotion.

Drone makes too much sense. :uhoh I need a Stroh's. :rock
Amen Drone!

I understand what your saying also, this is why you choose responsible people
and I understand people can have a night out and get drunk (even a responsible person) or just have a bad day
but these perks that are built up aren't at any cost to any of the players
they are not sacrificing in any way for the benifit of the squad, the points are just added to the squad perks bank
I'm not sure what would happen to the perks if a squad disbanded, I guess it's just tough luck and that they will start having to use their own perks for a little while
and in the end it's just a game,
but whats to loose by adding this small but beneficial part to the game
players are rewarded with success and promotes team work espeically amongst squads

Like Communism Avanti, great idea on paper... :aok

I'm with Drone on this one. Well said Sir. :aok

Well, if one earns all the perks and the others just spend them... is that teamwork or welfare? :devil ;)
Seriously, true teamwork = Teaching your lesser gifted squaddy how to fight successfully, cover his 6 so that he can get kills and get back to base. Enable him to earn his own perks.
THAT is truely teambuilding... bonding you guys closer together than just throwing a few perks around.

So your tell me that no one is going to even up a vehicle and aircraft until there is enough perks for a tempest?
and I agree that is true teambuilding and i'm not going to disagree with you on that
but is there a problem with promoting it to an extent?
how will this be bad?
If you had no choice, how would fix the problems that you tell me and everyone else?

No I'm not.... and I have no idea how you came to that conclusion... :headscratch:

I say welfare... :lol
Nicely put Drone. I'm not so nice. Avanti, there is no place in AH for turning perk points into a commodity in any manner. The only people who worry about perk points are those who don't have them and those who are so focused on score they do everything possible to "game the game".

welfare... :lol you know there's another word to describe this better. Communism :aok One works their butt off and the others take the money while doing nothing. Like stated above, great idea on paper, never great when done in real life :aok

Problem is that some people rack up 30 plus perks per sortie. Multiply that through the squad, and eventually you will see missions compossed of 262's, Ar234's, and Tigers as standard.

Avanti
Even the person who you think is the most responsible person in the world can still rob you blind. A couple of years ago one of our Game Masters at the company I work for had a couple of players contact him about some items and in game currency that was stolen from their linkshell. The Game Master investigated and found who the culprit was and informed the two players. The two players were shocked beyond belief because they thought the thief was the most responsible person they knew because they knew him in real life. Turns out that the player that stole the stuff was the real life high school English teacher and swim coach for the two players and the teacher stole the stuff to sell so he could buy some lame sword that cost a crap load of in game money.

this!
or, as i did when i first started, read the documentation about perks and how they are computed and awarded, I roamed around in a 190a8 for probbly 3 months looking for bombers (also big targets to hit).. or even head to a vulch with it :) land it, dont die, etc. etc. you'll have a 262 in no time..
edit:
also, dont waste em. I dont even think i flew a 262 till i had 1000 fighter perk saved up.
and i rarely fly perk planes to this day..
-
Same here, I don't usually have a large ammount of perks built up (because I fly fighters so rarely), and so almost never fly the 262.
-
but seriously who would buy perks in here to fly some plane that you would crash as soon as you upped. perked planes are not the easiest to get kills in and you cant get the perks to fly them you cant fly them at all.

Perfect example semp:
My gunnery has to be about the worst in the game, and so the 262, with its toejamty (balisitcs wise) 30mm cannons, is not a great plane for me. I can use it, but I must get within D400 (hard to do in a 262, since everyone keeps an eye on you, and are more consistent about giving check 6's, AND there is a good chance of colisions.)

so you wouldnt buy perk points, because it would be a waste of money. I dont relaly see how anybody would want to buy perks in this game since you would lose them really easy.
semp
-
Exactly. I'm not going to blow $50 on something that will be gone in a week, and will produce no tangible results.
-
Boxboy28 would waste all of ours in about 15 minutes on 262's....next day he'd say..."well I was drinkin..."

The same people that farm perk points are the ones that would buy perks in a heart beat.

I like the idea but without having perks reset every month, it is pretty useless.
Some of us have enough perks to lose more than 200 Me262s, it just doesn't matter either way.
