I'm sorry to report that my friend and American hero Lt. Col. (Ret) William H. Holloman, III, (USAF) has passed at noon on Friday, June 11, 2010. Col Holloman flew with the 332nd FG as a part of what would later become known as the Tuskegee Airmen. Bill Holloman was also the first vice-president of the Sam Bruce Chapter, Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. He was a tireless supporter of the Tuskegee Airmen legacy and educator to school kids in the northwest and throughout the US.
Several here had the opportunity to meet Bill during the 2001 Air Warrior convention in Seattle. Bill shared his unprecedent collection of color kodachrome slides taken during his training in Alabama and deployment to Italy with the 15th AF.
Bill is seen here with airshow performer Julie Clark at the 2008 Arlington Airshow in Washington. His laugh and smile will be truly missed. :salute

:salute, and I hope that in the next 60 years, we'll have more retired fighter jocks to regale us with their hair-raising tales of battle.

Great find on Bill's photo in the P-47, Wayout. I'd like to include that for his online memorium.
