Post by: Getback on June 15, 2010, 05:58:12 AM
My question is should I use this mainboard or send it back?

Normally they are just smaller, have 1 PCIe slot, and have less things in general (ie two RAM spots, some have 4 still). It's up to you and what other hardware you have.

It all depends.. if it does everything you need it to, then the only difference is that it is smaller.  It should still mount in the case.

However, if it doesn't have enough ports/slots/features for what you want to do with it, then definitely send it back.

If you use a big vid card one that takes up two slot you may not be able to use the PCI slot for sound card. The vid card on my friends board covers the PCI slot and know he is stuck with on board sound. If you want to add other paraphernalia there is no room they only have one PCI slot. Micro ATX small ATX bigger most of the new boards that are in the low price range will be Micro ATX from what I have seen lately.

I have an MSI micro ATX.It has enough slots/room for my double slot video card and a sound card.
The 4 USB ports mean that I have to disconnect my Flightstick to run my printer but it's not that big of a problem.
It all depends on your preferences. :salute

Alternate option is to buy a new one and send that one to me.  :D

Yes, I believe that is one I got.

Let me know what you think. After ordering and seeing it was not a full ATX I decided that I would not rebuild the system and send it back. Now I am not so sure. I might keep it and rebuild.

You should be fine.. looks like it'll have an open PCI slot even WITH a double width video card.

It does, however, have only 2 memory slots.. are you ok with that?

I don't think my fat fingers would be able to assemble anything on that board.  Looks a little tight.

I'll assume that your going with stock CPU cooler.
