I didn't watch the vid because I'm on dialup, but I assume you are talking about a bhut jolokia. It rates 1,041,427 units on the Scoville scale.
A jalapeņo rates 8,000 units.
-
Habanero is the hottest thing I've ever touched, and those rate at around 300k+. Would never wanna eat a Naga or anything else up near that scale.
-
I have a few Bhut Jolokia plants in the backyard. Haven't yet worked up the courage to eat one.

I found some hot sauce in a small stand in Ohio, it was $99 for 1 ounce and it rated 7.1 million on the scoville scale. You have to sign a wavier to purchase it, the owner said to date he has only sold 2 bottles. It's called the source, check it out.

I grew a bhut jolokia plant last year. If you dry and grind up the fruit, it makes some great red pepper. Just had some on my bagel this morning. Mmmmm good!
-
I could probably do it since Habaneros don't seem to dent me much. That said, I was no Dennis Mills. This guy could eat the biggest habaneros whole routinely. My forays were on the order of occasional - though I often enjoy diced Habs on a salad or in a nice sauce.
The one thing I'd about which warn anyone who chooses to do this: the subsequent dookie's going to be nice and toasty.

This is the stuff I use, Blair's ultra death sauce. 1.1 million scollvies. Its not to bad unless put a huge amount. Ill make a thing of easy mac up and put 3-4 drops and its perfect. Ive found anything more than 6 drops, your crying for relief.

And this is absolutely insane, girl eats 60 of those bhut jolokia.

a friend of mine grew up in nigeria and used to make this great nigerian beef stew - very dry made with beef, tomatos, dried shrimp, peppers and some african spices. about 6 scotch bonnets per portion - easily the fiercest thing i've eaten :uhoh

I think there's a tolerance buildup - I've noticed it subjectively. She's probably just used to it.

Maybe he doesn't sell any because of the price?
:rofl
I don't understand hot for the sake of hot if it doesn't add anything to the flavor. I like jalepenoes. The smell makes my mouth water. They don't always like me though.

I'm with you on this. Screw Dave AND his Insanity Sauce. It tastes like bottled pepper spray - and probably is.
Try the Hab, though - much more tasty than the jalapeno or the serrano... a bit fruity around all that heat.
-
I'd eat the pepper and then put some Kosher Salt on my tongue. What's funnier in the 1st video is the moron starts rubbing his eyes, a shame not enough oil got onto his fingers. :furious

I drenched a burrito in that stuff once and ate it without giving in to the milk. Was crying my eyes out the whole time. I've mostly been using a little milder sauce since then.
Very hot, but I don't think it's the most flavorful sauce.

Supposedly some people don't have the ability to feel the heat from peppers. Some have said that she has that ability. Either way she's absolutely nuts. Rubbing them in her eyes... I imagine the next few days aren't very pleasant either.

is that the same as the Ghost pepper?

Yes.

No thanks. I'll stick to my homegrown Habs. More than hot enough for me.

I agree, if I have to sign a waiver to buy something I sure as hell am not going to eat it.
The store owner said that one bottle would last a person a lifetime. He said the way he has heard it used was to dip the end of a toothpick in it and throw that in a pot of chili while it's cooking.
There is a way to make habineros stand up and dance, I can't remember the spanish phrase for it but it translates into "teasing the pepper". Take any pepper and
roast it over an open flame until it's blackened. Once it's blackened take it and tap it with a rolling pin, crushing up those nice little seeds. Then just take a bite and wait for the fun to begin :x
-
Any burger stand worth its buns out here offers flame roasted chillis (typically jalepenios) for free on the side. Just gotta know how to talk to the grill chefs.

What you wouldnt want to try those places that require you sign a waiver before eating their hot wings?
I do it just to say Ive done it.

Why would you want to?
Sauces with "extract" are lame. Those sauces are the kind you buy your worst enemy as a holiday gift.
There's no better hot sauce than making your own.
The part of a pepper with "heat" are the seeds and the whitish membrane holding the seeds to the inside of the pepper.
Even people who can't stand the heat can de-seed and de-membrane a habenero (or jalepeno for that matter) and eat it perfectly fine in salads, sauces, etc., once it's been washed.
