They are potentiometers, Goner. My stick is optical and doesn't use them, so I don't know the cleaning procedure. A search on "Thrustmaster pots" should kick out mulitiple resources, faq's and bb messages.

Goner,

What you need are isopropyl(sp? "rubbing) alcohol and a few clean Q-tips (cotton swabs). There should be some screws on the bottom of your stick that will come out. From there it is a simple matter of being careful and remembering where things came from when you pull, clean and install them again.

Be carefull cleaning the pots.  I'd suggest stopping by www.thrustmaster.com (http://www.thrustmaster.com) and asking their tech support.  You will be cleaning off some particles, but you will also be cleaning off lubricant.

Yeah I was in a hurry to get to work this morning and left that part out. They have a nice tech help forum for just this matter over there and if you look for a bit you can find all the information you need.
