Title: Looking for enemy squad
Post by: doomed on June 22, 2010, 04:30:43 PM
Hi all our squad is currently looking for having our squad nights (Saturday at 8:00 est usually) in the axis vs allied room for a more real feel for the war instead of the cookie cutter maps of the MA.
We are a historic Luftwaffe squad JG77 with about 28 members but usually about 15 or so for squad nights and are looking to see if anyone plays in a v a or if any squad would like to meet up Saturdays for some historic fun in the skies.

It could be a weekly thing or bi-weekly depending on the responses but it could be some real fun and we could all set up rules and boundaries and make it sorta a fso warm up type thing.

Looking forward to hearing from you all.

Doomed xo jg77

Hello!

Welcome to AvA! Unfortunately, our Squad Nights are on Wednesdays and Sundays, around 21:00 hours GMT.

But I hope you enjoy your experience in AvA and, hey! if no one's in, you split and have fun!

Cheers,

I'll try to make err,   Saturday nights usually I'm out and about   but   you could find me there saturday and sunday afternoons  :),  and I might be able to bring at least 1 LCA player or two.

G'day Doomed, I rarely visit AvA because of time zones, but your squad night is mid morning Sunday for me. I'll see what I can dig up. I am familiar with a lot of your guys from WB a few years ago so It would be like old days. I should be able to scrape up 1/2 dozen guys to fly against you, if someone else does we have a fight.

 :salute

Was it just dogfighting or anyone attempt to capture bases?    I attempted Sunday night and Monday but the script is broken  (de-acked v base and took 20 troops,  but no capture).

We was going for a base capture but im not sure if we took it or not as i well um sorta passed out drunk lol.  I know we are comming back for squad night this saturday i think since we had so much fun and we would like to do base captures but i have been told dar killing and such is frowned upon. I think dar should be a target but we are willing to play by the rules thats fine or we could if we knew there would be enemys possibly set up a rule system each week such as we take field A you take field B and we box in a area that we cant leave and then go at each other total war style, take no prisoners etc etc.

Let me know your ideas too and let me know if there is a way to find guys to fight each weekend and make it easier to set up some permanant ground rules.

If base captures are allowed,  then dar should be able to go down.   Historical plane matchups,  I know I've talked about them,  should be more than just dog fighting.

I think dar killing would be frowned upon if 2  sides just want to dogfight.  But, if there is a movement to capture a base, then that should be a legit target,   to take a base the best way possible.

I know base captures would bring more LCA if continually implemented.

Bases should be capturable.  Reset the maproom settings so... give it a try! :aok

I posted in the other thread about this week's activities  that base captures are currently broken.  I took a total of 20 troops and base did not capture.  I tried both Sunday and Monday.

Can you fix?

This sometimes is a problem, maybe on certain maps?

We are trying to figure it out but just don't yet know why this is happening.
