Gents,

My current puter is a bh6 celle o clocked to 550mhz, tnt2 ultra 32meg, 256ram, and 8gig hd. I need advice on where to upgrade cpu vid card both or whatever, I only play ACES high like everyone i am sure so quake framerates dont mean diddly to me.  I want more fps and better res any suggestions?

i'd go with CPU, they real cheap now, and possibly G2 MX32meg, should be able to get both for around 250.00.

what specific board do you have? what's the max CPU it can take? slot 1? flip chip?

i have a pIII600 clocked at 901mhz (slot 1) using 256megs of PC133 RAM. (150mhz FSB).

get yerself into an athlon 900, and a v5 5500 both are reasonably priced and fast as hell.

$250 might be alittle shy.

Any worthy O/C'ing CPU upgrade will include a new board either AMD, P3/Celeron FC-PGA.
Most likely your using PC100 ram, and a BX board with your current Celery, which can limit your CPU upgrade options without spending cheese on ram and a new board.

I have a ABIT BH6 mother board.  The CPU is a celleron 366ppga overclocked to 550 mhz for over a year know, my memory is 2 X64 meg pc 100, and 1 128 meg pc 133. Does anyone on know what the largest CPU is that I can use and how fast can it over clock on the board. I also just bought a 45gig 7200 rpm ultradma harddrive including the pci adapter to accept this board.

Pollock,
A BH6 should be able to take any Celeron or P3 currently on the market with the latest Abit bios flash (see Abit's web page)

I had a Celeron2 633mhz on a BH6 that I ran O/C'ed to 950Mhz.

Given your available $$ get a GeForce2 MX video card and a Celeron with whats left over. A few 633 & 667Mhz Celeron overclockers have managed to get 1G with H/Duty cooling. 8-900Mhz should be easy to reach.

Thanks all for the advice I have decided to go with a ceeleron 566 overclocked to 850mhz
fan heat sink included for 95 dollars. I will see if i need a bump in the vid card after that

You can pick up a 950mhz Athlon with mobo for $199 at www.tigerdirect.com (http://www.tigerdirect.com)  

They also have 256mb of PC133 RAM for $69
