Title: DA Queens
Post by: stephen on June 25, 2010, 08:35:06 PM
These guy's who endlessly taunt players into the DA where they can dictate the rules, and simultaniously stretch them by climbing higher than the merge alt, and diving into the fight against the poor shmuck that is trying to play fair...,Its laughable.

#1 THE DA IS NOT A PROPER REPRESENTATION OF SKILL... you have rules that favor certain players who have endlessly practiced bending the agreed upon DA merge rules, and they live for nothing else.
This is pathetic, and the final desperate move of guys who have thier planes shot out from under them in the MA...

#2 GETTING OVER ON THE OTHER PLAYER BY CLIMBING HIGHER THAN THE AGREED UPON MERGE ALT AND DIVING IN IS CHEATING...
Some guys seem to think skill is derived by flying within the DA and using another players honor against them by climbing higher than the merge alt, and diving in securing the E advantage at the expence of what the other pilot thought was a "fair" fight.
Its a form of Lying...underhanded, improper, and skillless... TARDS. :D

#3 SMACK TALK...
The purpose of most DA queens is to have you on "thier terms" in "thier kind of fight", and this reflects greatly on the disease that dwells within thier narrow minded cheating little hearts.
The symptoms are a pilot that seems to constantly climb MUCH higher than you on the merge, when thier icon dot momentarily appears higher than your agreed upon merge Alt BVR.
Any attempt to call into question thier bending of the rules will invariably result in your skill (and in my case) your intelligence being called into question... ignore it, because if they could handle the MA, they wouldnt be pleading for guys to DA them in the 1st place... :lol

The purpose of this thread is to inlighten you all to the crud that typifies this sort of behavior.
The fact is that alot of DA Queens have gotten bad reputations for supporting thier habits, so they constantly change thier names in an attempt to draw more hapless victims into thier game.

Within the MA these pukes are usualy handled with ease through team work, and energy managment (where thier tricks ammount to little more than a trip to the tower, followd by invitations to the DA for the offending pilot.)
I had the misfortune to meet one such coward this evening, and I emediatly recognised his habit's, and called him out by his old handle.
As expected, he fled the arena after I called him out.
Seems the community has seen his ilk B4.

Within the MA these pukes are usualy handled with ease through team work, aka cherry picking or simply overhwelming a lone guy by sheer numbers and energy managment aka come in at 20k and bnz the snot out of everyone, then run  when someone get's coalt (also called: doing the Snailman)

:rofl i'm not hating with this. i'm just finding it funny that you say this to try and make people follow a code of conduct that most choose not to follow. personally i still kill the ones who try and bend the DA rules because those are the ones that can't fight once you hit the deck. :aok

I have done litterally 1,000's of duels over the years.

Never once have I climbed above the agreed upon pre-merge alt.

I HAVE killed quite a few though who did.

He has a habit of that.  One time I dragged A8Popy in to the DA after he was talking some crap and he lost each of the fights.  All I was greeted with was accusations that I cheated by climbing higher than the agreed to merge, yada yada yada.  Another time I ran into him in the MA and he had a slight altitude advantage but he used a terrible merge that I matched with with a simple low Yo-Yo to gain the necessary energy to follow him up and me being in the P-38, I already have an advantage in the vertical and was easily able to catch him as he zoomed up.  Of course, accusations of 'something fishy' about my flying and about the flight model was heard from him.  The problem is that he doesn't understand why he's being shot down and since he doesn't understand why it's happening or even how, he has to reach out for some explanation and it's easier to blame others or the game instead of taking a critical look at one's abilities and seeing if that's where the problem may lie.

So let me get this right.....

you did something dweeby to someone else, they called you out for it, you puffed your chest, and they challenged you to the da. Then, in the da, they killed you.

Sounds like you just need to get good, before puffing your chest... if your gonna talk, you better be ready to walk.

here is an idea,

If you can't control your mouth, then go to the da with your friends, practice and get good.  Be careful, you might soon find yourself calling out others for their dweebey actions that you find lame and at times frustrating once you see it.

#1 THE DA IS NOT A PROPER REPRESENTATION OF SKILL...

Actually it is.  I'd still be a skillless picktard if I hadn't decided to log thousands of duels over the past couple years.

Bending the rules like you accuse is dweeby though.  Duels shouldn't be a measuring stick where the outcome is so important you'd feel the need to cheat.  I do question the legitimacy of your story though.  This just sounds like an epic whine and a lock waiting to happen.
Title: Re: DA Queens
Post by: Dawger on June 25, 2010, 11:56:31 PM
The easiest way to prevent cheating in a duel is to not have any rules beyond what plane you are going to fly.

I tell folks I'll be somewhere around whatever altitude looks convenient but I also tell them they can be at whatever altitude they like. If I see them climbing into outer space I just make sure I'm 10,000 feet below them and demonstrate how altitude is only useful if you have a clue. They have to come down to fight. I've had duels with guys climbing to the moon where I put the auto level on and went to the kitchen.

If you have to set rules for a duel then it points to a weakness in your skill set. Setting a altitude limit tells me you have no confidence in your ability to turn my altitude advantage against me. Immediately, I know how to get in your head.

Same thing with cold merge. Telling me you want a cold merge lets me know you have no clue about pre-merge position or out of plane lead turns. Advantage me before we ever get visual on each other.

+1

A lot of people giving Stephen a hard time but the man's right no need in cheating but people do it anyway and brag about it.  I got a few people in the back of my mind that's done this - hit auto pilot at merge alt and coast in

Edit: After reading Sun's post I have to say I've dueled Sun in the past and I've never known him to be above the agreed merge alt. But my first statement stands to the one's who like to break the rules

I don't know what the hell your problem was. I wasn't climbing before the merge like you said or anything. 3 of the 5 rounds we did you were on top BnZ'n the whole time. The reason you lost tonight wasn't because i had more E, Just better ACM. Its as simple as that. Next time take your beating like a man and don't go crying about it. This is the second time Ive smacked you around in the DA just you to have you come on the BBS crying about it.

If you have to set rules for a duel then it points to a weakness in your skill set.

Actually the agreed dueling "rules" are a time honored tradition of cartoon dogfight enthusiasts put in place to show off your skills in an environment that promotes ACM,Angles, and most importantly a good fight .Simultaneously it dispenses  with the dweeby gheytard stuff. There is a huge proportion of this community that adheres to them.

You can forget them or follow them as you see fit of course....it's your 15$.

" Having Honor and fighting the good fight vs being a Gheytard and dweeby is a charrenge most people face every day in and out of this game. Make your choices wisery and perhaps great things wirr come to you...."

You can always ignore the people who challenge you to DA.  Weirdly I don't recall ever being called out in the MA to take it to the DA to settle anything.   If that ever happened I'd say 'no thanks I don't care'.   To me its' value is as a practice arena not as a way to measure your manhood, because doing that by flying a pretend plane better than somebody else is so very sad.   I measure my manhood the old-fashioned way...with a yardstick.
