Title: what are the side switching time limits?
Post by: caldera on June 25, 2010, 08:43:51 PM
Was in LWB and switched to rooks.  Got bored with NDisles map.  Went to LWO, played for 1/2 hour or so and tried to switch back to nits.  It said I can't switch for another 72 minutes.  I thought it was 1 hour.  Did a search and came up with some really old threads that may not be relevant.  Saw nothing on home page or trainer's page.

It is one hour, however I have found it messed up too when changing between both LW mains

Same here. Switched in Blue, then tried to switch in Orange and was at 93mins. I wish the time limits were separate between the two LW arenas.

almost sounds like your waiting period was combinded between the two arenas.  I like that.

Yeah,

LWO = 1 hour
LWB = 1 hour

They're both Late War, so that's 2 hours between side switching...sounds good to me.  Most of you guys are so fanatical about your "country" why does it matter?  For those of us who switch to try to balance numbers or fight fights (at least myself) don't care how long.  I only switch once or twice depending on how long I'm on that night.

I did a little testing on this...and there is more to it than meets the eye...

I went LWO and switched from K to R..

Trying to switch back to K or to B I get a 59 minute message

Exit Arena...got to LWB....

Switch from K to R...

Trying to switch back to K said 118 minutes

Trying to switch to B and it said 58 minutes...

Exit game entirely....

Relog Reload...

Either LWO or LWB now both say 55 minutes and change....

Clearly there is unintended program behavior going on here....

If you are going to post a Bug Report, I would suggest doing some careful testing and document the results you come up with...

It will make it a million times easier to track down the bug...and this is clearly a bug as some data is being counted twice when switching arenas...

It's an old bug that I thought was fixed a few updates ago, guess it wasn't or it's reared its little ugly head again.

You can negate it by simply Reloading the game....

Probably why they haven't fixed it...

Edit: The only question I have left is...and will never be answered.... is it client side or server side....
