The sex and her having mono was the joke. She is 32 and the thought of her having mono was funny to the both of us. However, the surgery was planed over a month and most likely will not happen because of the sickness. Feel so bad for her with the endometriosis that she decided to have the one remove. I am all support for her, it have to be the hardest thing for any women to do.
Thx guys

Here it is... See rules yet to be added. :noid

Im so sorry Oak! I will put her on my prayer list.

Very sorry to hear that Oak. :pray
For those of you that are worried about being IN or who think they are rule judges, you have a very, very long way to go.
It looks like the man thought he has some some friends in this community and need to vent.
Remember-what goes around- comes around.

Why the hell are people saying in? I'm no moderator but this does'nt break any rules....or does it? :headscratch:

Rules are sometimes subjective. But there's a good chance it will depend on which direction the thread takes. So long as it remains reasonably respectful and cordial I dont see any particular problem. BUT if it even hints at going overboard. Then out comes old El Kabong

Just my thoughts.
Sorry bout the wife. I wish her well

Hey Oak, Tell her to hang in there, it's just a bump in the road. All this will do is take tome to get over the mono and then finish up the surgery. Times for the two of ya to kick back a little and put some stuff on the back burner. As the saying goes, life is what happens while you are busy making plans.
Thoughts ands prayers for the both of you.

Thx guys. If any of you have wives have endometriosis, try to be understanding and supportive. If is vary painful for them and really nothing they can do to prevent it or control it other then having their ovaries remove. Nothing worst for a women to have something like that to happen.
My wife has had endometriosis for 15 years. She is at the point to do something or continue having the pain.

Man I had mono about three years ago, it's apparently much harder on you if you get it as an adult. On the positive side you can only get it one time. On the negative side, you can be very very sick for several months. I ran up well over a thousand dollars in doctor bills because I got it after I already had an upper respiratory infection, and the docs thought it was some other sort of secondary infection that they couldn't quite identify. It was probably a month before it occurred to someone to test for mono. I think I ran a fever of over 100 for three straight months. I feel your wife man, that's rough stuff.
-
Maybe you can have sex in "number two".
:joystick:
-
The thing with the mono is not that they'd be unable to have sex, there's no reason why not really, either he'll catch it or he won't. If he's already been exposed, he won't get it, otherwise, he most likely will. The real issue is that she'll be so sick as to be totally uninterested in sex in any capacity.

It isn't about him catching it. When a person had mono, their spleen enlarges, and too much activity (i.e. sex) can cause it to rupture, causing internal bleeding and possibly death.
-
I caught mono about a year ago. It almost cost me my NROTC scholarship :cry

Yea, my younger brother got it six years ago. He was half way through polices academy in Texas, end up to drop out.

Thx guys, she going ahead to do the surgery on Thursday. Hope she dose not have complications after the surgery.

Epstein-Barr virus is no fun. I hope she comes out of everything fine and dandy.
Just make sure she takes plenty of Tylenol, maybe gargle some salt water to help throat pain, and get plenty of rest.
The best to you both :salute

Actually, this hasn't been proven at all.
NO, I am NOT a doctor. But I did stay at a holiday inn express last night. Oh, and a case of mono and the resulting enlarged spleen almost deprived me of a tier 1 ~$200,000 ROTC scholarship.
The spleen may be mildly enlarged by mono, however, there is not necessarily any link between enlargement, activity, and rupture. The assumption is, that since the spleen is enlarged it is weaker. If it is weaker, it must be more likely to rupture with activity. However, statistically, more spleens are ruptured sitting on the toilet than during any other action. There is no proof that the spleen is weaker with enlargement, and the likeliness to rupture wouldn't increase with sex, unless part of your sex is punching your partner in the abdomen.
Just some public information I spent months studying with my MD to fight "the man" holding me down :D

I got no spleen, was remove in 1981 from a blood infecting.
-
Wife just had her surgery this morning. It took a hour and now home walking around. Everything was ok other than still have the mono. Will be sore for a while.
-
Glad to hear everything went smoothly. I wish her a speedy recovery.

Yep, quit amaze that she is in and out on the same day for that kind of surgery. If we were going back to 1980s, she would be a overnight stay.

http://www.monotreatment.com/ruptured_spleen.html (http://www.monotreatment.com/ruptured_spleen.html)
a quote from this site as to what could cause rupturing ;) "Roughhousing, Vigorous exercise, Contact sports...."
There have been proven links to it, but it is not so much "oh it will absolutely happen, it'll rupture and you will die"
Physical activity isn't recommended as it does pose a certain risk.
"Avoid sports, physical activities or exercise of any kind until your doctor tells you it's safe. Moving around too much puts you at risk of rupturing your spleen, especially if it is enlarged. You need to avoid physical activities and contact sports for about 3 to 4 weeks after you've had mono."

We can have this battle if you would like. Although I think oakranger wouldn't like it. Just some info on Mono.
Oak, I hope your wife has a speedy recovery.
