Blackshark requires (and deserves) a better campaign though.

The only reason I am hesitating at all to pick this one up is they are still using StarForce :P

Somewhere I still have a copy of "A-10 Cuba". I think that was an Activision title.

That is the one and only thing that will keep me from getting something.
Starforce is the kiss of death for me.

Agreed. And I'm not buying anything, or installing anything that was a gift, that installs anything like that on my computer. I refuse to pay for the privilege of installing spyware on my computer.

Same here. That's the reason I will not buy another Sony product.

It really is a shame, if the flight model matches the graphics it would be a nice sim.

Another video is out. Startup. Watch it in 720p.

To me startup seems simpler than Ka50.

Agreed. But I guess that's because the A-10 is surely much simpler than the Ka-50, what this the latter's contra rotating blades, all the stabilization equipment, and the general increased technical aspect of an attack helicopter over a gun with wings.

F&*( that....and I was looking forward to this one just because of the A-10.

LOL - I remember when I first got Black Shark - it took about 3 days just to get the thing off the ground, but I was determined I was going to do everything in full realism.

This does look a bit easier.

Getting it off the ground wasn't hard. Figuring out all the other gizmos took time. It was especially fun to land a chopper without any of the auto functions and I got pretty much the impression I'm supposed to click a button somewhere or else there would be much more operational losses in real life.

I have to revise my statement here. Apparently the Starforce issues are resolved in that you online have to do an online activation. I don't think it must be connected like the SH5 installation though.

Which means depending on some factors I might add this one to the buy list.

But does it still trash your DVD drives, and block normal backups as well?  I will research it, but still dubious.
If it really is fixed, and just a simple online activation, I may buy.  But after my experience with it the first time, just the thought of Starforce makes me cringe.

I trust it about as much as I trust a politician.

I have LOMAC, FC2, and DCS: Black Shark. As far as I know, all the activation does is put a token into the registry that the game will recognize as a legitimate activation, and there is even an application out now that allows you to save the registry entry if you have to do a major hardware/OS change, this way you do not have to use another activation or deactivation. You have 8 activations and 10 deactivations I think, and you can acquire more if needed by contacting customer support with your proof of purchase.

I have DCS: Blackshark. Never had any problems with drives or activation. I've changed OSs several times, wiped my computer clean several more, and still, never an issue.
