Title: Philippine Phandango - Next Scenario Announced
Post by: Fencer51 on June 28, 2010, 08:59:05 PM
(http://www.ahevents.org/images/stories/scenarios_images/201007_philippinePhandango/rules_pics/banner.png)

It is November, 1944, and MacArthur has returned. With the battle of Leyte Gulf just completed, the Fleet Carrier Task Forces of the US Navy have moved off to hit the northern islands of the Philippines. On Leyte, units of General Kenney's Fifth Air Force and several Navy and Marine squadrons remain to cover the newly gained foothold. The Japanese, intent on reversing the recent tide of battle, have moved several elite aviation units to the Philippines with the start of Operation Sho-Go 1. Both sides are desperate and going all out to win control of the skies and seas of the southern Philippines.

It will be the F4U-1A & D, P-38J & L, P-47D-11 & -25, FM-2, B-24J, and B-25C & H, against the N1K2-J, Ki-84, Ki-61, A6M5b, and Ki-67. The whole of the southern Philippine Islands is a battlefield, featuring dogfights in the sky, strategic bombing of targets on the land, and antishipping attacks and ship vs. ship battles at sea.

Please join us for the fight!

Since it is not restricted, then yes, bomber formations are enabled where available.

Thanks for the interest.

Everyone -- to give people plenty of time to get set for opening of registration, I will open it on Monday night at 8 pm Eastern.

That way, for people who are out of town starting from tonight, etc. but who planned on the previous opening of registration aren't disadvantaged.

Sorry folks, for they delay (had a technical snafu), and many thank to forHIM for getting it all fixed.

 :salute

I have been approved as CO for the AXIS side in this event.  I always like flying for an underdog (Historically) as it is more about having fun and meeting people in this great SIM. I have been many things in AH, except as CO for a Scenario. I will need to recruit some folks who believe that being an underdog is a good thing and only an issue of mind over matter. Pilot skill still rules the skies and can sway History.

The AXIS (Japanese) have some great planes, with many strengths. I need people that can utilize those strengths in this event!  I know it will be fun, the preliminary setup is new and exciting to me and AH Scenarios. Preplanned orders from High Command make some decision making unnecessary for the COs. Execution is key. The XO and Group leaders will help plan and lead their groups with my assistance. They too will make plans within the guidelines of the HQ Orders.

I would ask that anyone that can,  please jump into the AXIS role and you may have trouble wiping the grin from your face!   :lol

Preliminary Rules here:

Please read and familiarize yourself with them.

Thank you in advance for taking an interest in Scenarios. Squads Welcome too!
Staff Positions are Available.

8 more AXIS positions left for folks. That's right!!  I know several walk-ons from last Saturday's Test Frame will likely sign up.

You might find it hard to believe, but it was a BLAST!!!  Everyone had plenty of action, shipping was hit and sunk on both sides, bombers hit targets and made it home, fighters had missions and targets/dogfights....it was intense!!!

The AXIS gave as good as it got. (and that was the Test Frame)  This coming Saturday welcomes the real deal, Frame 1

We will accept all walk-ons until the slots are all full!!

Saturday August 7th, 2010 Doors close at 3:00PM EST

In a very close battle, Frame 2 is upon us today.

SEA II Events Arena.  PLEASE be there just before 3PM est to receive assignments.  Since I need Axis pilots badly, please try and help me out. Allied positions are needed as well.

If you walked on previously and had an assignment, you may go directly to that group again. If the group is full, we may need to reassign you. Either way, we will try and work with everyone!!!

I need Bomber Pilots, KI-61 Pilots, and NIKI pilots for certain. This is due to several registered pilot's prior obligations this weekend, as well as, a lack of them even during registration. We never filled these slots completely.

There may be a stray KI-84 and Zero position as well. Come Join us !!!!!

Check out Frame 2 and the Allied and Axis HQ Orders here:
http://www.ahevents.org/images/stories/scenarios_images/201007_philippinePhandango/rules.html

Thank you, in advance, for joining us in this Scenario!!
