These guys are going to make a fortune, lol, crazy premis but you have to give it to them for their marketing and CGI skills.

That actually looks... Good!

I would probably go see this, though it is a bit more for the younger crowd. But I like the concept of the fans directly supporting a film, and going to see it would encourage more independent film makers.
The free market dictates what gets made to a point, but then the studios take over and it often gets turned to crap. With direct fan financing taking the studios out of it (eventually, this film still had "normal" investors) I can see some very creative people getting to make films that otherwise would never have gotten their chance. I think that the tech we have today is going to force the movie studios to evolve a bit, and they are going to lose the grip they have on the market and the artists, just as is happening with music. I can only imagine if the fans had control over the Alien franchise :D
Of course there will still be some real bombs come out of it, but it will be balanced out with some real gems I am sure. I very much agree with the quote from one of the producers that trust in a project still has to be earned. The free market is still going to have a lot of control, maybe even moreso.
It is amazing sometimes what these kids can do: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOZVp9NFhQE
We couldn't even conceive of this kind of capability when I was growing up.

"KICK SOME NAZI ARSE" doesn't sound like it's for a younger crowd...

I think Hollywood's curent answer is 3D. Really overhyped IMHO.
There's alot of really good stuff out there but, unfortunately, the ones that come to attention are based on other's ideas. Star Wars or, like in the you tube clip, Batman and Aliens vs Predator.
I would say that's not something made by kids either. The Joker was Andrew Koenig (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Koenig_(actor)), who killed himself last year. He did a good job there with the Joker.
But, movies on a shoe string have always been possible. You just need to catch the right attention to get distributed. Look at Robert Rodriguez.
